I didn't see a great deal of info on lifting a 2nd gen Avalanche using H2 springs so I thought I would post my experience.  I recently bought a 2010 4wd, non-Z71 and wanted to clear 285/70R17s.  The front I did with a 2" strut and upper control arm and there was just a tiny bit of rubbing.  The rear cleared fine stock but was now lower than the front, especially with our roof top tent on the bed rack.

For the rear I bought Chassis Tech H2 springs, 261947048051.  I finally got around to installing them this weekend and initially the rear went up 3.75".  The next day we went on a 6 hour off-road trip with the truck and that settled them down to a 2.75" lift.  The ride without the tent is really good with the Fox 2.0 shocks.  When I had both sets of springs out, the H2 springs are noticeably thicker and have progressive wind to them.

Plans for now are to put the tent back on and see how much it squats the rear and then level it.  I bought a set of 2019 18" take offs for street use and I want to get some 275/70R18 tires for those and have just one set of wheels.  I also have a some aluminum diamond plate that I want to cut up and make a new front skid plate and a belly plate to cover that big gas tank.  I found an aftermarket Ford bumper that I think I can modify to fit on the Avalanche by cutting the plastic bumper....will have to see how that might look.

:welcome: afraptor22.  Great first post.  Thanks for sharing the information.  Do you have any details on your tent setup?  Itlooks fantastic.  (y)  And what'st that green truck in the background?  It looks pretty cool.

The tent rack is some 2x1x.120 steel I had.  It's a simple rear hoop to match the angle of the sail panels and then a cross bar up front.  I made spacers and ran longer 6mm bolts through 4 of the spots that hold the upper plastic down.  It's been strong enough to hold the 200+ pound tent and gets all 4 of us up there.

The green truck is Frankenstein.  It was an FJ40 that I cut in half, stretched the frame 28" in the middle and then built the back half of the cab around some Aqualu doors.  I just did the flatbed and the 38's.  It's got a 6.0 LY6 and a 6L90 and 2 transfer cases.

Cool, thanks for sharing.  (y) So you attached the front similar to how a Snugtop secures.  Nice setup.  Frankenstein sounds like a beast.  Very cool

Did I read that right, you have 2 transfer cases. ???

Ya, the front half of an NP203 (high low) then a Toyota transfer case to use the offset axles.  I have 3 transfer case shifters now high/low, high/low and 2WD/4WD.  With both in low its a 4:1 crawl.

With the 4.03 first gear of the 6l90 it should turn the 38s easily. Nice build.

Hmm, I wonder if a 6l90e can be retrofitted to an older truck... I need a new transmission anyhow... Wonder how it compares to a 4l80e.
