Hi All:

Live from I15 Northbound @ 80 mph, the Western Regional has begun! I'm in the passengers seat with AVKing in his lifted 2002 Z71. The ride is unbelievable for a lifted truck. Between the XM and wireless internet, its hard to be bored!

Wind4Power is behind us and we expect to be in Las Vegas at 10:30a.

CAHIKR is 6 hours ahead since he left at 1AM. He's a freak. :)

Man this is gonna be great.... Only 7 hours to go!

We'll keep you updated as wireless connectivity allows.

-Ed

Thanks for the update! I sure wish that I could have gone with you folks!

Dang, Ed--you *are* a geek! (as I write this from my bed on a lazy, rainy Saturday morning...)

I'm gonna have to join you guys on a cruise one of these days...

Have fun!

I'm headed out now from SLC, Utah. I plan to take side roads (the scenic route :) ) I should be there around 5:00 to 6:00 this evening see you all there.

Another update from the Road.

We have left Las Vegas and are heading towards Utah (specially to Cedar City) on I15.

The So/Nor/CenCal folks (SoCalCindy & Family, AVKING, TekSavy, HQ and family) met Jack (Snowfall) and Craig (Avaburado) and his son Brian in Las Vegas. After a tasty buffet (thanks to Jack and HQ pointing out edible buffets) at the Orleans casino, we are back on the road.

We now have four amber DRLs caravanning to Utah.

More updates to follow.

-Ed

Oh man... I should have been in that caravan... :C:

I really wish I could be there with you all. Have fun, be safe, and take lots of pictures...

The live updates are GREAT! Hi to all the Av'rs on the cruise. Looking forward to hooking up with everyone in Kingman. Grey Avalanche and I just returned from the Truck'n Nationals at Firebird raceway. It was alot of fun. So many trucks to look at its almost unreal. Not as fun as being on the WWII cruise with you all I am sure.

Keep up the live updates and see you at the end of the week.

Peace,
Todd

Just a quick post to let AV KING, CA HIKER, TEXSAVY, So Cal Cindy, Wind For Power, H Q and Utah Av know I got back to Phoenix OK. Left Jacob Lake about 4:15 and was in Phoenix at 8:30. Thanks for a great time. Well planned and CA HIKER lived up to his name. I'm sure they will check in when they get a link again. Signal is very poor around the Nat. Parks.

Hi All:

Live from I40 about 100 miles south of Barstow, CA, another update from the WWII meet.

Sorry for the delay in getting updates to you, but needless to say, Utah is not the pinnacle of cell coverage. This is the first time I've had *any* reliable cell coverage since outside Las Vegas.

Don't worry, the AZ folks gave me a hard time about the updates, so I'm trying to update before they get home. :)

Anyway, The Nor/Cen/So Cal folks had a great time meeting our AZ counterparts. We had a good dinner at the Dambar restaurant and a nice breakfast this morning. We had 7 AVs at the GTG.

Nor/Cen/So Cal people:
AVKING (Robert)
Teksavy (Ed)
SoCalCindy & Family (Cindy, Ken, Caitlyn, Sarah, Kendall)
CA_HIKR & Family (Brian and Barbara)

AZ Folk:
Grey_AV (Marshall)
Avaburado (Craig)
Amd1900mp & Family (Todd, Darla & TJ)
Ghostwheel & azcavfandt (Eric & Donna)

A big thanks to the AZ folk for meeting us. (Some of them- again!- Avaburado) It was a lot of fun! The AZ peeps had some great mods.

Now the fun part of driving 700 miles home. :( But it was WORTH IT!)

Assuming Robert doesn't kill us on I40 passing all the cars. (He's currently having a hissy-fit with a Sentra that won't move to the right lane.) :)

Our first night in Duck Creek, UT at the Pinewoods resort. Note Sarah on the cell phone desperately trying to get signal.... She wasn't successful. :( (And neither was I.)

Still not dead yet....

Ed (Teksavy) taking a pic of Bryan (CA_HIKR) and Craig (Avaburado) on top of Angels Landing in Zion Nat Park. The hike was awesome- about 5 miles roundtrip with a 1600' elevation gain and sheer cliffs on each side. The views were amazing.

Hi all,

It is great to hear you all had a safe trip home. I hope the last half of the meet was as fun as the first. I sure had a wonderful time. As I went back to work this week I realized what a great group of people AV owners are.

Brian; I think you have planted the hiking bug in me. I have been in hiking withdrawls all week. The first thing I did on Thursday was look for good hikes close to my home. I think I will be spending some money at REI now. >:D

As for the shot of the AV's at the Grand Canyon, your right Ed, don't ask. I'm guessing that I won't be safe for long though. The photographic evidence is sure to suface soon. :2:

Again thanks to everyone. I can't wait for our next chance to meet.

This is one to those "You got to be there to believe it" stories. Let's just say the guys did some strange things with their bodies to get this one. This was one of the few rare locations where you can combine vehicles with a background shot of the grand canyon and it is absolutely amazing what some people will do to get that perfect shot. Talk about human sacrifice!! :-* If they made any more twists and gyrations it would not have been a pretty sight.

Well, I just got home and finished unloading the AV. It is now 7:30PM PST and I am finally getting online after and long week with no technology.

Ed, you old biddy. That Sentra was annoying me. But, after a little nudge with the Bull Bar at 90mph, she moved right over (into the ditch). j/k.

Ok, shower, spa, sleep. In that order. I will post PICs and news later.

Bye all.

Just got in... it's nice to be home. Wow...what a blast... sleepy time now...

-Ed

Well just got home from meeting up with the Cali group in Kingman. BTW, you guys missed out on some good offroading up in the hills >:D.

Teksavy, will e-mail you my pics tomorrow, going to BED.
