After trying to find my original post....and making the one for 303 I decided these cladding tire shine products deserve a thread...
I find this stuff to last the longest, run and streak the least and well look the best...It really makes the cladding look like it is brand new.....it shines and the color is uniform.....it seems to hide the white blemishes (tiger stripes) too...and also appears to hide those man made white ding spots as well....
When it rains the water beads on the cladding and looks really neat to me.....It also will last through several rains and/or washings....For me this stuff lasts about 8-10 wettings where I can see it is wearing off.... that is the cladding loses some shine....but it still is there...and maybe another 3-4 wettings when it is gone and the cladding is dull and faded looking again.
Again.....These are suggestions and I suggest you try and either find someone who uses it or try it in hidden spot to see if you like...heck in store open bottle and smell and feel it before buying....
Watch it when you apply to the assist steps or running boards as this stuff is slippery.......ecspecially when wet........
HOW TO USE:
These products come in spray bottle which are all different....but I use two methods for applying.....I sporay it onto larger areas and then wipe with sponge applicator to ensure even coverage and to wipe up excess.....as with any detialing product use just enough never too much....for small areas or next to paint and lights I then wipe the sponge applicator directly as it will be soaked with the stuff
If ya like you can just spray applicator and wipe.....heck you can use an old wash cloth or Mf towel as your applicator it does not matter too much....just ensure even coverage and not too much where it is puddling like an oil spill.....
I will not and cannot say one is better then the other as they all are about the same except for maybe SMELL....so buy the cheapest per ounce...bring calculator if ya need too.....The gels are too thick IMO and should not be used....I show them so you know about the,
The only thing I have heard bad about this stuff....is some peeps say the bugs land on it and stick....if that is the case I think it may be applied to thick or they are small bugs...but I would think a quick wipe down with a wet towel should wipe them right up and the cladding still will look good.
OK now for pics and links....most products can be bought at any auto parts store, Discount stores, online etc etc.....I look for the cheap ones.....as they all are about the same....
Eagle One
The 25 OZ bottle pic is above....List is $4.99 from Eagle 1 but I have seen cheaper at stores. I used this stuff first as it was a sample in some wax I bought from them a long time ago.
Turtle Wax
Please notice this product comes in many diffent containers....I have used the clear spray bottle.
Meguiars Consumer
This product is similar but much much thicker and seems would be hard to apply. I tried that once on small area and man the stuff is just too thick and not enough in bottle....plus more of a PIA to apply.....the one I do not reccommend for cladding.....
Mothers
This is very similar to Meguiars Endurance stuff see comments there.
Black Magic
This stuff can be hard to find.....as stores tend to stock the tire tint which is not the same....
Eimann Fabrik Black Opal
Eimann Fabrik Saphire
Saphire is a gel where as black opal is the liquid spray.
Both are made by Classic Motoring Accessories which is a great place to buy stuff.....pricey but good customer service.
Klasse
Klasse is very good stuff but it smells like kerosene to me.....This is the first product I tried and liked on the cladding....this is the stuff which started my experiments with these tire shine products......expensive but good stuff...
I have seen Wesltey products too which is under on company that owns black magic, slick 50, blue coral too.....
I hope this helps and add your comments and questions.....
PS I own stock in none of these nor do I get any money for this.....I just like Detailing a lot and hate to see peeps get scammed....

Meguiars NXT
