OK, OK I know. I shoulda checked the parts side by side when I changed them. Here's the scoop. I am pretty sure that I put a shallow pan transmission filter where a deep pan was required (2002 2WD Avalanche 1500). It came to me in a dream the day after I did the change.
Is this a big deal? I have driven it and it seems fine, shifts great and no funny noises.
(PS- Based on the other posts I didnt even try to get the tranny plug out - just dropped the pan. Wasnt too bad of a job althought I really dont want to repeat it for another filter.)
