2005 AV Road Runner Award

The 2003 Award winner that traveled the most round trip to all GTG's was mmdavidw.

Had a 2004 Award been established, a member from Indiana, New Jersey and Tennessee would likely be on the road every week in December attending GTG's to determine the 2004 winner.

December 2004 is practice time for Your posts and updates using the following example.

Example

GTG Guy 12-4-04 Hooters/Atlantic City 78 miles
12-11 (where ever) 60 miles
12-18 Christmas GTG 72 miles

December GTG activities 3 210 miles

Have a little GTG fun in 2005!

MIKE

The award should go to Z66 Butch... over 2000 miles clocked in gtg travel this sept alone.....

He may get some competition when I retire.. >:D

Does flying to GTG count? SEMA... Driving from Fla to Canada this past year plus GTG's in Pa at shows?

Meeting a ton of great Av owners on the way Priceless.. (y)

How about driving from NH to Las Vegas, NV and meeting up with Enkei and Javaman before SEMA started. Round trip 6160 miles >:D

In my book...Butch is the hands down winner...he did it ALL in his Av...and every stop on the way was an Av GTG... (y) (y) :B:

I don't think I'll be much competition in 2005, but should be back to normal for 2006 though. >:D

The whole point of this is to get people to come to GTG's and have a good time.

You won't find any other car club where people are driving 5k-10k miles a year to attend GTG's.

 to everyone that attends a GTG. No matter how close. No matter how far.

David

No matter who the winner is, there are some really dedicated, fun-loving folks that have been able to travel and attend a great number of gtgs. I go when I can because I enjoy them so much. But work and family concerns limit most of us somewhat. But when the stars occasionally align and the timing is right - we're on the way!

It will be fun to track the miles per Tinman's example nonetheless. Posting is fun, but gtgs are the bomb! There is nothing like in-person! I salute all of our high-mileage folks!

2005 GTG Miles

1) Middle Tennessee: New Years Eve BASH 12/31/04-1/2/05: 378 miles
2) Corsa factory Tour: Saturday 1/15/05: 1546 miles
3) Owensboro, KY BBQ Lunch: Saturday 2/5/05: 747 miles

I think that Avalance is way up there if not leading the way.  I think he just broke 100K miles on his AV.  Most of them I think are for GTGs across the Pacific Northwest.  I think he tacks on +500 miles for each GTG just driving to the GTG... not including any milage for the actual Cruise!

I ended up traveling 9,629 miles to 27 GTG's in 2004 alone.  The mileage is only to and from GTG's not the miles traveled at the GTG.  :B:

I may need another extended warranty.  :6:

Starting 2005 with 217 miles at and from the Paris Landing meet.
