General Motors Desert Proving Grounds - Sunday June 18th, 2006
General Motors Desert Proving Grounds in Mesa, Arizona has invited 23 of the Avalanches attending the National Chevy Avalanche Get Together, a guided tour of their facility Sunday June 18th, 2006. Happy Fathers Day!!

This tour will include a GM current product vehicle display, group photo opportunities, a tour of some of the road systems and test tracks including driving on the 5-mile banked circle track, watch a live  driving demonstration of some of the worlds best vehicles and drivers, and an opportunity to purchase DPG shirts and hats.

You will be driving your vehicles for the driving tour portion.

All participants must be 18yrs of age or older to be on the DPG property. Each Avalanche may carry as many passengers as they have seat belts. Cameras will be allowed for this tour during certain activities, so bring them along. You will receive additional instruction on what is expected prior to entering. Please bring your handheld radios so you can hear the explanations and the purpose of some of the things you will see along the way.

The first 100 people registered for the NCAGTG will have their name entered into a lottery style drawing. The Arizona Avalanche members are excluded from entering this drawing. We will draw 23 names from that group to see who will visit the General Motors Desert Proving Ground.

Showtime is 0730 in the parking lot, rolling at 0800 sharp

If you need gas, do so before we roll, once we get out there, there is no place to get fuel.

This is gonna be the BOMB...

Hangning out in the morning getting ready to go

Avs as far as the eye can see!

And a few more

No cameras were allowed into the facility, except the designated photographer, so for the pics from "inside the wire" you'll have to wait

Inside the Desert Proving Grounds was awesome. Unfortunately though, they aren't accepting job applications. I'd pick rocks and debris off of the various tracks for minimum wage just to be able too hang out there.

Great job by the Arizona Avalanches for being able to pull this off. Major kudos and thanks to GM and everyone involved!  :B:
