I put mine in 4wd yesterday just to make sure it still works. Probably use it 5 times a year if that.

Quite a bit of snow here the last month or so. I've used the Auto4wd probably a dozen times or more.

I put BFG AT KO2s on it in the fall. These tires ROCK in the ice & snow!

In the past, I generally used it on a daily basis Dec through Mar. Presently though my AV tends to hibernate more in the winter time.

Yesterday (Saturday), was the first day in over a week I didn't use 4Auto. The ice and snow are my friends, I get a lot less traffic down my street when it's iced over.

I loved my BFG AT KO's too, mine still had life left in them when I took a large bolt thru the tread. I didn't have time to wait so replaced with in stock Goodyear Wranglers which are OK but no BFG.

I LIVE in northern Michigan.
My drive is a private road about 400+ yards buried back into the woods.
I need 4wd just to get out of the drive
and the county isn't the greatest for road clearing so pretty much any time I leave the house this time of the year I am in 4wd.

I use 4wd high probably once every couple of weeks. we own a farm and i constantly have to get supplies to the barn or if I am doing work on fences etc in the paddocks. As our property is quite hilly even have to use it in summer at times especially after heavy rain here in Maryland. Have owned a few 4x4's and the Avalanche definitely beats them all hands down the only thing i dot have and miss in a 4x4 is a hand twist throttle but planning to manufacture an after market part so when I need it i can have the old girl crawl as i pick up or throw stuff off the back of her :)

Maybe a dozen 20 mile trips to work and back each year here in the land of lake effect snow.  But I use it every time it is slick at all (even if I just expect it) to get across the street and turn left out of our development.  Then I turn it off.  They come fast and heavy from both directions.  Not a time to spin tires.  I have zero use for auto 4WD.  Why would I want to run around with my front axle locked in when it isn't necessary.  Nursing my used front differential I put in last Spring a bit.  Works fine and is quieter and doesn't seem to leak, but not completely quiet.
