With all that has been said about coordinators being legaly a part of this club and any suits arising from planned events, I feel EVERYONE I have MET at events is a AV friend for life!! That will never change, and my love for cruises GTG's and a simple drink with an AV'r will always be there too. When Chief slipped up and vocalized his position on this topic.....I HAVE TO make myself VERY CLEAR about this.....I am no longer part of this clubs activities as a moderator, coordinator or any other guiding, leading, or organizing role.

Once again:
1) Personal strong position.
2) MUCH love for relationships that will never die
3) Still enjoy the fellowship ( please invite me to your GTG)
4) Not a part of CAFCNA Coordinating, moderating, or managing structure

In planning this event, we ran into a little bind on getting hotels to work with us. The week of June 18 and 19 is Myrtle Beach's PEAK SEASON. Every hotel I contacted would not do group rates on the weekends, and they almost all had a 4 night minimum on reservations. With that said...........

Book your room now, don't wait. We have 2 hotels that are right next to each other. In fact, the parking lots are connected. The Fairfield Inn
FNCollage.jpg
which is 4 years old, and the Holiday Inn Express which is about 7 yrs old. Both are located next to Broadway at the beach which is one of the biggest growing attraction spots at Myrtle Beach.

These hotels are owned by the same company, and are offering standard rooms in either 1king, or 2 double beds. They have free breakfast each morning, no minimum night stay, and FREE TROLLY RIDES to the beach ( so you don't have to look for parking) The trolly also takes you to certain entertainment spots for free also.

Our group rate for the rooms at either location is $125 per night. Regular rates I believe were $149 per night. If you would like to stay elsewhere, be sure to book your room soon. Peak season at MB ..... rooms fill fast!

They will be holding 60 rooms for us. Be sure to book soon, because we hope to have 100+ AV's at the Grandstrand in June!!

BOOKING PHONE #'s

Fairfield Inn 1800-217-1511
Holiday Inn 1800-398-7231

Just mention the Chevy Avalanche Fan Club for group rates.

In light of many people PM'ing me asking about rates for those who may be staying all week:

The rates for the Fairfield Inn, and the Holiday Inn Express will be as follows:

Sun - Thurs: $89 per night.

These are the same Standard rooms. Either 2 double beds, or 1 King bed.

I hope this helps people who may be wanting to spend the whole week at Myrtle Beach!

Just mention Chevy Avalanche Fan Club or

Just some more info here. I got the contracts in for the rooms, and we need to have our reservations in as soon as possible. There is a cutoff date....a last chance if you will to get your room. That date is 5/17/04. After that, the rooms will be normal rates.

If you want to stay elsewhere, be sure to book that VERY SOON. Some hotels are all booked up already! Most others require a 3 to 4 night minimum stay as well.

Just keepin' everyone informed!!

Oooh continental breakfast. So who will get up early so they aren't stuck with the doughnut noone wants to touch ....hehehehe >:D
Hey hey hey, doughnuts are a touch subject after STI!!! How many did we have left over??

PLEASE DON'T WAIT to book your rooms. Myrtle Beach is full at most locations RIGHT NOW. I would hate to see people not make it to this event because they couldn't get a room. I have been going there for nearly 20 years and know how fast they fill up their rooms. This week is PEAK weak for that area!!! TONS of PEOPLE......but more importantly TONS OF AV's!!

As promised, some news of the event......Not much but, some.. ^_^
I think we pretty much got the legal liability thing for folks concerned settled earlier. B)
To answer the question of reservation being pulled the answer is NO! We are still in at both hotels, :D Got it fixed and moving through the red tape issues as well.

Originally we had- reserved 10 Rooms for the 17th, 30 for the 18th, and 30 for the 19th as well. We have four confirmed bookings at this time (2 each hotlel) That is before mine which are in the works for the whole week. We also have other folks staying elsewhere, ( I don't have a count on those but we'll get that as time gets closer).
- This leaves you with 8 rooms left on the 17th, 28 left on the 18th and 28 left on the 19th for both hotels. So, We have time and you still have rooms to book ! !
To reconfirm the rates they are $89.00 for weekdays(Sun-Thur.) and $125.00 for the weekend(Fri.and Sat.)
The cut off date to book the rooms is May 17, 2004 so make sure your party books there rooms before that date so they are guaranteed a room.

Due to no booking allowed of the Broadway at Beach parking lot during June and of course, even if we could cost is ridiculous and I wouldn't ask anyone to do this so, this idea is out. The Fairfield has a nice grassy filed in front which we are working on that now for us to may be use for the AV's and what not.

On the other threads there are many events, attractions, and shows people would love to see So, check em out. I'm still talking with other organizations in the area about a charity or donation of sorts to something in the area.

Joanne and I are clearing off our plates to dedicate time to this event for the next three months in order for this to happen.

That's what I have so far and I know a lot of happening so we will trying to firm everything in March to see how it stands..

Looking foward to this and the folks enjoying themselves..Appreciate everyones patience and now that you have rooms LET"S FILL EM UP ! !
