WhooHoo! :woohoo:  Congrats!  Sorry that they added injury to insult (the strip after the theft) but glad it all worked out.

Thanks for all the good wishes....after the shock of having my "baby" stolen and destoryed....there was never any doubt about getting another AV!!!  And of course, in time, I will personalize it.  I have a few things to get fixed on it...need a drivers side mirror, front headlight, and figure out why my DRLs don't work....but I am happy with my AV, Part 2....hehe

How did they steal the last one? Broke window? Pop the lock?  I invested in jimmi jammers for all four doors, tailgate, and hood for peace of mind.

They punched out the door lock, and broke the ignition....I honestly don't know a thing about stealing a vehicle, so I am just going by what the cops told me when they found it.  I have an appointment next Friday to get an alarm/remote start installed.  I know if people want to steal something bad enough there is always a way to do it....but my whole sense of security is so screwed up still, that an alarm system will give me a little peace of mind.

Don't want to  :jacked:

but I know what you mean. When I was 16 years old at work, my truck was stolen.  I had a 1986 dark blue shortbed Silverado.  The grocery store I worked for did boat orders for the shrimping industry so I was in charge of taking the company van and delivering the groceries.  I left the store when it was slightly dark and seen my truck parked there.  I was gone for a hour and came back and parked the van.  I didn't notice if it was there or not, it always was so I went in and stocked the store.  I got off at 11 pm and walked out, and no truck.  Now a week prior, my brother stopped by the store with a coworker while delivering paint for the auto paint store he worked at, took the truck as a prank and brought it to the paint store.  He worked a couple of blocks away and I had to walk over there and I found it parked in their building.  So, when I walked out and didn't see it I assumed the same.  I called my mom, asked if my bro has the truck she said no, and then I asked if my sis did and once again no, she said call the cops.  Cops came wrote the report and that was that.  Never found it.  So, my next truck was a 1988 maroon short bed Sierra, I had an alarm system and a steering wheel by Grant, which had an antitheft system called No Wheel No Steal.  You placed the key in a collar on the steering column, turned a knob and removed the steering wheel, then you placed a cap over the column.  Really made me paranoid, and to a point still am and that was 22 years ago.

Yeah if they really want it they will tow it.

Strobin...thanks for posting your story....it helps knowing that someone else knows what you are dealing with.  I know in time it will get better.

But I tell ya, every break that I take at work, I am outside checking on my new-to-me AV!!!  Yup...still there....hehehe!  Some of my friends want to know when I am going to start "personalizing" this Avy like I did the other one....I think that will take some time....for now I am just happy I was able to get another one.

Just read through this thread, awful someone would steal your ride for the purpose of just trashing it (at least that's how I read it).  Great to see you have a new ride, and things are settling in for you  (y) My neighbor ( a local cop ) has said a VERY high percentage of stolen vehicles in this area end up on the reserve.

My AV is an '03 as well, Z71 (just 68K kilometers).

I also just read this glad you have a new to you well not so new now Avalanche.
There are somethings you just do not mess with is a man's family and his truck. Carma will find them.  :beating:
I have a Gray on Gray 03 Z71. I would like to see a pic of your interior. The two tone sound interesting, is it factory or someone have it done.

Cool interior !  Glad you're back in an AV again.

OMG those are some clear pic looks like I could just sit in your tuck.
Is this factory, it is unique and I like it.

I wasn't a huge fan of the interior when I first bought this one....I loved my grey interior of my '02, however, it has since grown on me...hehe  As for it being factory or not, I honestly don't know...I haven't seen another one like it yet.  :B:

I really like it, has me thinking about taking mine into an upholstery shop and 2-toning the interior.
