service suspension dash light

Hi, I'm just wondering, on my 2007 chevy avalanche, if I can just cut a wire on the back of the gauge cluster to disable the service suspension light?

There is a resistor made to be placed at the connector for each shock that will prevent the error message from appearing.

The resistor is there to fool the computer into thinking a valid shock is installed.

When incorrect shocks are installed with no built in connector, the computer will complain with the error you are seeing.

If you buy the correct replacement shocks from Arnott, the required connector on the shock or external resistor is supplied.

I have both on my EXT.

But, if I can just cut 1 wire going to the dash gauge cluster. I shouldn't have to do all the resistor crap. Right?
I'm not sure about that, I've never cut any wires to the dash because of the problems that may occur if you do, if it's just a light that you can remove the bulb I would do that, I have a 2010 LTZ and everything is built into the info system on the dash that let's me know everything about the suspension, low tire, trailer braking and other sorts of things. I installed the resistors 3 years ago and put regular struts on the front and I've never had any problems or messages from the suspension since. The resistors are pretty cheap and very easy to install, a lot easier than taking the dash apart and possibly damaging it. Good Luck 👍

any warning light today is turned on by the one of the computers not a wire.

nothing to cut.

That just shuts it off temporarily. I'm looking for something permanent.
Then you'll have to install the resistors, mine never comes on unless something else goes wrong. That's the only way to keep it from coming back on or you can spend $500.00 on new shocks and struts that have the sensors built in to them.
