Hi, I'm just wondering, on my 2007 chevy avalanche, if I can just cut a wire on the back of the gauge cluster to disable the service suspension light?
Did you switch out the shocks without the sensor in them?Hi, I'm just wondering, on my 2007 chevy avalanche, if I can just cut a wire on the back of the gauge cluster to disable the service suspension light?
yesDid you switch out the shocks without the sensor in them?
I'm not sure about that, I've never cut any wires to the dash because of the problems that may occur if you do, if it's just a light that you can remove the bulb I would do that, I have a 2010 LTZ and everything is built into the info system on the dash that let's me know everything about the suspension, low tire, trailer braking and other sorts of things. I installed the resistors 3 years ago and put regular struts on the front and I've never had any problems or messages from the suspension since. The resistors are pretty cheap and very easy to install, a lot easier than taking the dash apart and possibly damaging it. Good LuckBut, if I can just cut 1 wire going to the dash gauge cluster. I shouldn't have to do all the resistor crap. Right?
I just push the check mark button on the DIC, takes 1 second. But, if I can just cut 1 wire going to the dash gauge cluster. I shouldn't have to do all the resistor crap. Right?
I should have told you about that, but I assumed you knew how to do that, lolI just push the check mark button on the DIC, takes 1 second.
Easy peasy.
Then you'll have to install the resistors, mine never comes on unless something else goes wrong. That's the only way to keep it from coming back on or you can spend $500.00 on new shocks and struts that have the sensors built in to them. That just shuts it off temporarily. I'm looking for something permanent.
