Apologies if I missed the correct info or am not posting correctly. First post on what appears to be a really old thread. 2012 Avalanche LTZ with Infotainment system and Bose speakers up front. Bose amp appears to be out ... dealer replaced infotainment unit and subsequently identified that the amplifier was also an issue and was looking for another ~ $2k to replace the amp. Where is the Bose amplifier located in the 2012 Avalanche LTZ? If I can find one that is working pulled from another vehicle does the dealer have to program it for my vehicle?

I think you mean really, really old thread, look again it was 2002..

yeah lets move this to be its own new thread since 2002 did not really have an amp nor bose and was really different then all later years when it came to electrical and CAN systems.

good luck

2002 does have an amp behind the glove box... Many threads on bypassing it..

yeah is really an amp or as someone who did testing on it back in the day:
a signal CLIPPER to protect speakers by limiting output.

We call it AMP because well ... no name for what it does.

go back to 2002 thread, guy whipped out his oscilloscope to test that thing and show where it would chop the upper limits to some value hence why he bypassed it which was to get full signal when volume is loud.

REally informative stuff but I am not digging for it.... i
