Does anyone know of a GOOD shop that does engine tuning in KC?  I keep reading that a good tune is worth a whole lot more than the hypertec that I have...

I remember that GTG they had a Jesse Bubb's place, It'd be nice to have someone like him do it.

Mike,

My buddy suggested MC Racing in Merriam.  He said last he knew they were booked up for about a months time though.

Let me know if they do a knock down job.  If they are awesome then I will need to schedule an appointmet too!!!

I'll let you know..  I'm going to ask them about a new stall converter and a couple other modifications and how they will help and when to do the tuneup.

KC_Dent,
If you haven't talked to them yet.  A friend of mine has had them do alot of work on his procharged cobra.  I went down there once when they were dyno testing a modified viper.  It sounds like they do a really good job.  I can find out who you should talk to down there.

Let me know.

Actually scratch that, I just talked to him and his cobra actually lost power when MC tuned it for him.  He said to take it to V & P racing which is also in Merriam to have them install the mods you want and then take it to Ed Wright to perform the tune.  He works for procharger, and that is who they use.  Ed is located in Oklahoma City, but you V & P can send you computer down there and have it tuned for you.

If you want to call V & P racing you can call them 362-8388, and talk to Tim.

I can find out more info if you need, let me know.

Just a thought, have you considered tuning it yourself?  HP Tuners makes a computer program that lets you download the current tune from your truck and make changes yourself before loading back into the truck.  It is a bit confusing at furst, but within a few weeks you should be farely comfortable with it and the amont of changes you can make to fueling, shift points, shift firmness, tire size changes, etc is almost limitless.

For about $450.00 you can have your own program that you can tune your other newer vehicles with as well.  When I installed my supercharger I paid a bunch of money for the shop to put the truck on a dyno to "tune" it and found out that was a waste of money.  Tuning on a dyno is OK if you just want drag racing results, but if you want normal driving, city, highway, mileage and overall power results you will need to make changes that effect more than just pedal to the floor situations.

Just a thought.

KC did you ever talk to Tim?  I was talking to my buddy about it today, and was just wondering if you had had decided on anything yet, and what you thought of it.
