factory grill brush guard on a 2500 series 4x4

Can anyone tell me for sure if the factory brush guard part # 12498333 will fit on a 2004 2500 series 4x4 with cladding. I want one and just want to make sure it will be a bolt on deal. gmpartsdirect says 1500 series only but all the other dealer websites list it as it will fit both 1500 and 2500 series. If it will work with little to no modifications i will be on the hunt for a nice used one. Thanks

Not exactly.

They are designed for 1500 only

But some members have modified them to work on a2500

i did, none of them actually say what the modifications were. Tried to also find the factory installation instructions with no luck. emailed 3 different people who had them on their trucks but it was so long ago the email addy's were no good.

I had the instructions and they were a copy of a copy... but not much to them.

the guard has brackets on the bottom that bolt up to where the existing tow hooks go.

PRoblem is on a 2500 there is nothing in this spot as the frame is wider.
so peeps made brackets to attach to their existing frame and the guard.

All were custom made by themselves as they weremetal workers or know how to weld.
