I havn't posted in a while, just about to pay off my 03 no clad? (no plastic except on tirewells, front bumper and upper) sunset orange z71 avy. 115k miles!

I was wondering if anyone in the north texas area could recommend a shop that does good work? I want to have plugs/wires rubber under hood redone, add a new air intake system, level her out and maybe do a 1 inch lift, and some other things. Anyway i want to take it to a place that at least 1 person swears by above all others. I have learned that you can read reviews all day long and still not know anything about what you need to know, either due to inadequate information or the inability for some folks to actually know and recognize good service when they see it.

I also want to do some stereo work...was wondering if anyone could recommend a good replacement stereo that wont jack with my dash, i dont wanna cut anything or cause any problems. The only requirement i have is that it have some direct connection (aux) or bluetooth ability that i can jack my phone into. Any recommendations on places to take it? i hear going to best buy is a bad idea due to shoddy work. Would Car Toys be a better choice?

I am entirely inept at working on cars, if i do any of the work myself ill burn my truck to the ground LOL i love my avy so ill put it in the hands of experts LOL

Haven't been on in awhile so sorry for the late response.  If you haven't got the work done already I would steer clear of Car Toys.  I've dealt with them twice and will never go back.  I have told friends not to go and the two that went came back to me and said they should have listened.  I've tried one or two others and not been impressed, but didn't feel cheated either.

Radio:
Depends on what you are willing to spend you can get any option you want.  Going to any stereo shop they can show you the different options based on your price point.  The problem is that once you have a new head unit, you will want new speakers.  Then an amp and then subs; it can keep going.  If you want to get an idea of what's out you can check out crutchfield or best buy.  Not saying to buy, but to "window shop".

Auto Shops:
Plug, wires, intake, and level are all easy things to do.  If you really want a shop to install these you can still do your research and buy the parts yourself and just pay the labor at any shop.  That way you know exactly what is going into your vehicle and there shouldn't be too much of a difference in installation quality.

Hope that helps.

What part of North Texas you at?

Best buy and crutchfield are over priced but like other post just shop at them. Lots of places on line now have great deals on subs and amps. Mostly all in dash receivers now have the AUX capability. I know two great shops in Austin if around the area.
