limited slip? brake pads

what kind of rear axle is normaly fitted on my ava z71 2002,limited slip,or not?
why the brake pads are different for limiter or not?

The Z66 has standard limited slip so I would assume that the Z71 would also. Not 100% sure on that. It is not standard on regular 4x4s w/o Z71 package.

I think the Z71 package includes the locker rear end.

Maybe a Z71 owner can help out with a positive answer for this one.

Z66 and Z71 both have a locker, not limited slip.

The Avalanche uses the Eaton G80 Locker, I believe. Here is the link...

Not sure if this will help or not.

When i purchased the pads from autozone for a 1500 4x4 Z71, he showed me smaller pads than what is actually on the truck. Apparently, GM used a "quadrasteer" caliper on the back of the 02 that my mom owns.

So i am not sure if it is a glitch in their system or GM made the truck from a parts bin [like some other Z71s i have seen-same calipers on most, some had different ones ]

Yup, I'm curious about this also with my 02 Z71 because I need to get some pads as well. Thanks for the info.
