I just spent quite a bit of time looking at the pics and comments about the new vehicle on the other thread.? And I'm looking forward to seeing the "real deal" at the car show here in Dallas during the first week in April (I believe).? However, I'm wondering if this still isn't a "sheep in wolf's clothing."? I've had an AV ('04 and now '05) for about 2 yrs now and I really like the vehicle.? However, I find about a dozen things that just drive me nuts on this vehicle like flapping windshield molding, rattling steering shafts, hitchy transmission, mushy brakes, and still a 5.3 ltr. to name a few.? I can't be in the minority but I want a truck with build quality, dangit, and with the money you spend on a new vehicle and the engineering prowess of GM, I can't understand why they don't pay more attention to details.?
I actually like the new body styling.? For me, it allows for a better billboard for my fishing sponsors.? But I'm holding out my excitement till I see the 6 ltr with a heavy duty transmission or a 2500 with a diesel.? Maybe GM thinks that would cannibalize some of the Silverado sales but if I wanted a Silverado, I'd be riding around in an F250 PowerStroke.? But I wanted an Avalanche - I just want it bigger and badder.
Now with that said, can anyone speak to what makes the '07 better in terms of build quality and truck "attributes?"? Meat and Potatos, baby.? That's what sells trucks in this part of the country - not fake woodgrain dashboards.
