They hint at this sight in the article also!

Haven't seen Mike Magda's name pop up in quite a while!  I lost touch with him after he became editor at Truck Trends.

The new design is not without critics, especially from current Avalanche owners. Forums dedicated to the Avalanche have run early photos with mixed and very strong reactions. Many owners like their cladding, and one survey noted that more than 40 percent of the respondents preferred their vehicles over the new design. Some of the criticism even goes as far as suggesting that the new Avalanche is only one degree of separation from a Honda Ridgeline.

Someone reads CAFCNA!

A for effort
A+ for research

Even though the Avalanche shared 85 percent of its parts with the Suburban, it was distinctive and rebellious in the beginning.

Chevy officials now say the Avalanche shares upwards of 90 percent of the Suburban parts lists, including the front-end sheetmetal. There is much less distinction and hardly any rebellion.

Speaks for itself. I do like the interior though.

the really good thing i really like about it is that the 8 cylinder switches to 4 on light loads... we could really need this especially with the gas prices these days ?

?We have a limited number of 6-speeds,? said Herrick. ?I wouldn?t be surprised if the 6.0-liter had a 6-speed in future model years.?

Looks like the 6-sp is only being limited due to availability.  Hopefully late in the '07 model year or maybe '08.  I think I am going to wait on an '08.

CAFCNA, AVO, ClubAV, SoCalAvalanches, NorCalAvalanches, AVStyle etc etc etc.  Yes CAFCNA was first but as you well know, not the ONLY one now.

There is a clear tip off that the research came from here:

Many owners like their cladding, and one survey noted that more than 40 percent of the respondents preferred their vehicles over the new design

Do you want a link to the online poll they are referencing?  Sheeze - seems a handful of people need to pee on the hard work of a lot of good people here...how many of those other clubs were at the press kick-off today by invitation?

Chief
Just sayin'

CAFCNA -- the real thing -- accept no substitutes

?I have a hard time believing that,? laughed Herrick.

Somebody either hasn't done his extra credit reading or he is trying to cover over something that GM paid no attention to.    :beating:

Not peeing anywhere but the toilet Chief.  Just sayin' that while yes CAFCNA is the original and biggest, it's not the ONLY player in town.

Seems Herrick doesn't feel this is reliable input and does not want to take us seriously.? (n)

Could be a big part of GM's problems, Laughing at CUSTOMER input

At the time the article was probably written, the only AV pictures on this forum were photoshops and grainy spy photos. Not much to base a lasting opinion on.
I notice a lot of people have changed their minds about the new AV since real pictures and commercials came out. It's doubtful there will be many haters left by the time it hits showrooms and GTGs.

New for ?07 is a central-locking tailgate that is spring loaded to reduce the effort needed to open or close it. The traditional keyed lock is removed. Now locking and unlocking is handled with interior switches or with the keyfob. Chevy has also implemented a more secure method of storing the cargo cover when not in use.

I am looking forward to checking one out in person!

Av'n It,
Todd

now that i read the article about the new AV i like it more.  i still think i will stick with the current ride.  i can't pay for a truck all my life.  if i get the '07 GM will make something else i want.  like the Camaro. :E: >:D
