Even on a working vehicle, the slope of the gutter drains is fairly subtle.
One thing I can imagine on yours is the gutter material might be sagging in the middle due to age or damage due to loads being placed in the bed of the truck over time.
Some have reported they found cracks in the gutter material due to the gutter material getting deformed because of load damage.
However, my 2003 and 2004 do not seem to have this problem, at the moment.
One possible solution might be to try to source a replacement set of gutters using the salvage yard database website
Car-Part.com.
While you might not get a direct hit searching for the term "gutter system", search for more general parts to help find a good candidate truck and then call the salvage yard for parts availability and cost to ship to you.
I surprisingly found a door panel part I was looking for at a salvage yard 5 miles from my house that I did not even know was there.
Sometimes you get lucky.
Other times, I have found parts across the country and have had parts shipped to my door.
It may be good to note that the gutter system is the same for all model years and both the Avalanche and EXT, so you should have a pretty good number of trucks to choose from.
Another thing, I found it was helpful on the panel seals is to completely remove the rubber seals from the panels, completely clean all of the old worn out factory sealer material and use a generous amount of
3M Black Super Weatherstrip and Gasket Adhesive in the rubber seal grooves before reinstalling the rubber seals.
As soon as you have installed the new sealant, remount and lock down all of the panels back onto the truck and allow time for the sealant to cure.
This helps to press the rubber seal of one panel up against the next panel.
The old crusty sealant no longer does that.
I've never "adjusted" my panels, but instead replaced the old dried and cracking weather strip sealant.
Really seems to have helped in my case.
