WYOMING - PLEASE RESPOND!!

Nice! I was going to get that tent, but then a friend gave us his 22' trailer when he bought a new one.

I love central heating in the mountains this time of year.  (y)

Very nice Cloudfish! Glad to see you replaced it with another Avalanche.  (y)

How flat does your midgate go when you set it up for the tent?

My 02 has about a 5 degree slope no matter what.

Mine has just a little bit of a slope, too.  It's not too terribly noticeable as I just kind of use it for storing camping stuff when the tent is up.  I use a queen size air mattress (which, yes, is too wide) that I inflate while inside.  This makes it wedge in nicely and you can't even tell it's really too big.  That and $40 vs. ++$100 for the mattress that is supposed to "fit" was much better....

I was using a double size and it just sleeping unders the bed covers. It seemed to fit well, but it;s been a while now so I don;t remember exactly.

I do know that I could use my remote start, jump in the covers,  then kill the engine with the fob once things warmed up.

I didn't.  The insurance company totaled it--which in the end was probably better because I don't think she'd have ever been the same.  :(  I really do miss that truck though....

I ended up getting an '07.  Here it is on a camping trip a couple of months ago....

That is a fantastic picture... looks like it came right out of a Chevy brochure. (y)

Thanks!  Photography is one of my (too) many hobbies.

The night before I had stupidly left the driver's side window down (I hadn't put the midgate down on this trip.)  If you look closely you can see the raccoon tracks on the door.  As I was just falling asleep the night before, I swore that I heard something electrical--but sleep was more powerful than my curiosity.  The sound that I heard was the little bugger stepping on my electric door locks (there were tracks  ) as he stole a bag of hotdog buns and, oddly enough, a package of brand new socks I'd bought on my way out of town.  I obviously didn't recover the buns but I did find my socks about 20 yards away.

This photo, by the way, was taken at Miracle Mile, WY.  If you're interested you can see some of my other photography here:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/36775022@N00/

That's too funny!

Did you submit that pic to your best avalanche thread?

Hey Cloudfish,

I just finished browsing through you photo album. Very amazing! You are a talented photographer.

If you and that King Air are ever in SLC for more than a few minutes I know a group of AV owners that would love to meet you.

Again, the photography rocks!

Thanks--I'd like that!  I get to SLC around once or twice a month as a general rule.  I'm usually only there for an hour or two, though, while the medical crew transfers a patient to the hospital.  If the logistics could work out I would love to meet them!

I have family up in Casper, He lives off highway 20 right by the Platte. It is nice up there, I have a brother in law in Rock Springs, that is one ugly town. I like Casper, Gillette and Yellowstone of course. Montana is my all time favorite place to go. i don't care where I go in Montana it is all nice open country.
