She went so quickly. I didn't even know she was sick. I had the transmission serviced and fluids checked regularly. I was driving home one night and she slipped at 45mph. The next day my AV started fine but slipped and stuttered at any speed. Then it happened. She would not move at all. She died. 
I called Chevrolet 1-800-222-1020. Customer service was good but could not help at this time. I was given a reference # and told there have been many '02 transmission problems and this may eventually be a recall. If it becomes a recall I will be reimbursed at a future date. If you have a problem with your transmission be sure to report it so you to may be reimbursed in the future.
powertrain warranty on '02 is only 36k. I believe it is 100k for '07 and newer.
