Can anyone recall the Invoice Price of the '02 AV?

Based on mileage and options (or lack there of), I'd like to be able to deal for an '02, with some knowledge of what should be a fair price.

Recently, I saw an '02 1500 Red, with the following...

May have been a Z71. (Can't remember for sure, it was dark.)

Rear bumper had a bit if a tweak, as if it had been pushed in.

Half a dozen small dents, just below the key hole, driver's door. I can't believe dangling keys could have made that large of dents.

NO roof rack. No big deal.

NO sunroof. Would be nice to have, but not necessary.

Bench seat. Works for me.

Single CD. That's fine.

Couldn't check mileage.

Asking price $25,877.00

I've seen better equipped models priced lower than that. But, I don't know the mileage on this one. Might be very low???
I've even seen a 2500 for $23,995.00. But, the mpg vs. price of gas, has me a little squeamish.

I know comparing options and such is difficult, but my biggest concern is mileage. I'd like to be able to figure out $$ off - to mileage on vehicle. If I knew the invoice price, at least I would have a starting place. Also, I would have no way of knowing if the original buyer had any discounts or incentives, at the time.

Thanks, for any input,

E J

Seems to high to me  Keep looking, but hurry up abd buy one. You have enough posts, and PS...change you screename when you do ;)

:)hey buddy, dont pay over 15000,no matter thr milage, these 2002 have lost a lot of value..your man in the field abuelito

Seems a little high to me also. You may want to try kbb.com or nada.com to establish some sort of value of the vehicle your wanting. Of course, you will need to know all of the extras.
I'm seeing more and more AV on lots, so I would look into the options you want/need. Then go to a dealer you trust and see if they can search for an AV to your liking/cost.
Good Luck!

See, with a common bond (the AV), even a Cornhusker and a Seminole can get along. >:D

BTW, what is...

Thanks, again.

Trade-In $20,929
Private
Party $22,440
Dealer
Retail $24,957

This is what Edmunds shows for an Average 2002 Z71 with 30K miles.
FWIW, looks a little high to me.

Run, don't walk, away from it.

At 26K, you're not far from being able to get a new 04/05 and get the good financing deals too.

There are plenty of used ones around at a fair and reasonable price, not that ridiculous fee.

I dug out the original dealer invoice for my '02 NFE Build Date 9/26/2001.

Model CK15936 Avalanche 1500 4WD
Retail 33245.00
Invoice 29089.38

Make a long story short
My NFE Stickered for 39821.00 and Invoice less holdback was 33637.84 We bought it for $34,000

Any other questions? feel free to ask.

... and I hadn't been inside this one, yet. BTW odo is 43K+.

I'm thinkin' the 2500, might not be such a bad deal, now.

2500 owners, how about the MPG comparisons?

Thanks, again, everyone.

KBB came up $22,450.

Are you ready for the kicker? This is on the lot of a Mercedes dealership.

Carmax.com has an 02 AV 4WD, red with 29k miles on it for $24699... I'd stay away from that Mercedes dealership

shoot they have an 04 Red 4WD with 3k on it for 28699 so for 3,000 more get an almost brand new one

I just bought my 02 1500 z-71 with all the bells and whistles. Paid 23500.00 It had 28000 miles. If you look on autotrader.com you should be able to find what you're looking for.

Good luck.

By the way, I live in E. Tn but bought mine from Vallery Chevy in OH. It was worth the 250 mile drive as they gave me a tank of gas, no BS and were great to work with.

The salesman is named Jeff Davis. 1 866 Vallery. Tell him Jeff from Tennessee sent you. :B:

Sometimes it is worth the drive to save. There are some really cheap airfares out there. If the price of food/lodging/airfare and return gas is lower than the savings than heck yeah, go for it.

You need some behind the wheel time right away anyways. Nothing quite like starting out on a road trip!

My '02 MSRP was $35,400 or so, I ordered it with sport leather power seats, running boards,4x4 only options on April 12, 2001. No rebates then but I got it for $29,700. Only 12,800 miles and I can remove all mods in an hour and have it factory again. I'm keeping it until it's a classic :p
