Here's Chevy's new look for '03 - of course, we're way ahead of the curve!

And here's the new Silverado SS... Where's the Av SS edition?

I like the intakes up front!

One of this interesting things to note is that the front lights are flipped from the Avalanches - headlights on top and turn signals below on the Rado - we continue to to be unique. ;D

Here's some more detail on 2003 Silverado Interior.

Looks like the same console the 2003 Avalanche will be using. We are not losing a cup holder by having the ashtray relocated. Also noticed some more controls on the drivers door, rubber console pad and Bose sound system.

Hmmm....

With the headlights and signals stacked opposite the Av on this truck, I wonder if one would be able to get the parts to modify the Av to have the lights the same as the new Silverado.... (Not that I am complaining, just might make an interesting mod.)

Nice looking console. It looks like some kind of inlay on the center console thats not as smooth as ours.
I like the new console lid ... deeper with the rubber nubbed liner. The current version isn't very friendly when you placing items on it even if you have an lid liner. If it can be transplanted to the 2002, I will do it ;D

Maybe it is my imagination but it looks like it sits higher.

I think that could be a fairly major mod. The flip keeps AV owners from being able to use the Sylvania package HID kit that is pretty reasonable as HID kits go. :7:

I just read about the new Chevy Silverado SS with the 6.0 345hp AWD extended cab truck. ?I want a Avalanche SS. ?Someone else almost beat me to the punch line.

You know instead of Av SS, just go A SS ?;)
Nice new A SS you got there.
If you paid 40k for that A SS it better look good.
That A SS really gets up and goes.
Can I touch your new A SS.

I better quit while I am ahead.

I'd be carefull what you wish for, I wouldn't put it past some marketting genious at GM to create the A SS for 2004 model year. Interum production unit of course.

Naah Something doesn't look quite right on that Silverado... They changed the light colors. What happened to the top row being amber (Turn signal) and the bottom row white? They need flipped back around just like the Av. Would be much better with the top lights in amber. IMHO of course

Some of you were talking about the console. Did anyone catch one of the news programs - 20/20, Dateline, etc. about some of the geeks at GM and their new ideas? One of the ideas was a goo substance that conformed to whatever you stick in there, like a phone, a drink or anything need ing to stand up.

Goo - no disrespect to you, sir!

Great ... like having dreams about what "goo be gone" would do to me wasn't bad enough. Now, I have to think about willingly "conforming" when someone sticks objects into me

If that gave you dreams this should give you nightmares!

I have an Avalanche SS - y'all just come down to Houston and see what it can do >:D

I went to the dealer I bought the AV from on Saturday, they helped with my hitch step.
They know me pretty well ;) as someone who is just a little fussy.
THey had received an 03 half ton. Asked me to go out and look at the front end and tell them what I thought.

:D:

THe cat's eye look is fine and we new the chev line was going to take on the avy look and the GMC line go in a different direction, fine, no problem.
But IMHO the front end on that truck is ugly, and it has little to do with the shape of the lights. From the bottom of the bumper to the lip of the engine bonnet there are 7 material and/or color changes. I swear, it looks to me like they used left over parts to fill in the different holes. And, again IMHO, the grille looks like they shot for a billet look as cheap as they could, and it shows.
I hope they have the smarts to change it in mid year. Going to e-mail them with me thoughts (as citizen Kane)
