Anyone had a problem with the tab breaking off that holds the housing in place for turn signal/running lights? This is the 3rd time this has happened on my truck in less than 2 yrs, twice on the passenger side and once on the drivers side. This housing is very cheap in it's design. It fits onto a little plastic rod on one side then has a tab that snaps into place on the other. I have never touched this tab yet they continually break off and the housing is loose. Any suggestions on a permanent fix (other than buy a new truck) would be greatly appreciated.

if it breaks when you do not touch.... something out of whack ...

they break when cold out and ya bend tab too much...

It gets pretty cold here by Chicago but I have never touched the housing. Thinking about drilling a couple of small holes through the back and zip tying the thing into place or it's back to the dealer to get another one. Eventually I'll run out of warranty and they will no longer have to replace it. Maybe it's the cold + potholes = aggravation.

I just had my 2005 avalanche 2500 at the dealership for the very same thing. my truck only has 21,000 miles on her. I think its a design flaw. All I  can suggest is carrying a bag of zip ties in the sidewall.  I asked the dealershiop if this was an on going problem and they told me only with the tail lights !
