1, 1.5 Or 2 DIN

Is the opening in my AV a single, single.5 or double DIN? I have a 02 with stock cd hu.

So, what do I need to buy to put a 1 DIN HU in the 1.5 DIN hole? Preferably without using a drill.

you need a Metra kit from Circuit City, Besy Buy, or your favorite local audio shop. 15 bucks

Now, if I remove the factory HU and put in a 1 DIN HU from someone else, I have .5 DIN left. Does anyone make anything that is .5 DIN to put in. Like a slim DVD or SLIM CD Player. Maybe a slim XM?

I can't remember whom, but someone here has done that with a 1/2 DIN DVD as I recall.

Are most aftermarket HUs going to look like that? It does not look bad, just not very OEM. In your picture, it looks like it sticks out an inch or two. Can you make it flush to give it a little more OEM look?

You can mount it flush in there, but I think it looks better like this. If you want, find some color matched paint to the interior, sand the kit down flat and paint it so its smooth

Did you have to center it like that, or could you put it at the top or bottom? Maybe leave room for a graphic or sticker.

hmm, no not with my kit. But there might be a schose kit that allows you to. I'm not sure, sorry.
