2003 Avalanche...when???

Does anyone know what time of the year the 2003 model series of the Avalanche is coming out?? Spring, summer, October?? Any ideas??

Probably between mid-August to early October. Should be a standard 2003 cycle release.

Check out GM.COM and read though the press releases. There are several about the changes that are coming for 2003 to the whole Siera full size truck. One article says that the chanhes will affect all full size trucks. New dash, HVAC, steering wheel, Bose stereo, new guage cluster, new message center.....all pretty cool stuff.

so, how is GM/chevy catagorizing the AV? when the truck lines get upgraded, does that mean an upgrade for the AV as well?

I'd love to know the answer to that question as well. I'm in a delimna trying to decide between getting an Av now or waiting until the end of the summer.

The 2003 Avalanche ought to hit the dealer lots in late August to early September. The plant that builds them is scheduled to do model changover the first week in August. As far as interior changes go, the entire GMT800 lineup will get the interior changes, which includes the Avalanche.

dang, since I am waiting 'til august to get mine anyway (turning in leased vehicle.... I will never lease again). I might as well wait and see what the new interior looks like, before I decide to buy.

Anyone hear of cladding changes. I passed a small GM dealer today and saw an AZTEC with painted cladding. I suspect this is factory. So, is the AV next for paint?

Thanks so much for the help.... I have been on the fence regarding an 02 AV purchase. After a little research... seems a lot of the complaints will be addressed in 03. See this link for pictures and full description:

Also I found a tidbit claiming that for 03 AV buyers might even be given a choice for paint matched cladding!!

Those 2003 trucks look similiar to the Av. I wonder if the Av was the 2003 upgrade released in 2002?

As far as I can tell... the only styling the 02 AV has in regards to the 03 upgrades is the Front End. Everything else listed is in the upgrades for 03 appears to be new. Big note**** for those of us concerned with the audio... checkout the Bose, with amp and subwoofer in Center console. Also note the mult-zone AC, and mult-control for the seat heaters and steering wheel which is just like the TrailBazer.

The buying rep at my dealer just called me and said that my '03 is coded as going to production on Monday July 29th, He said they generally take 2-3 weeks to arrive in Houston from that date. I'm not sure what the "No more cladding" post was really saying but mine has the cladding and it has been changed to a dark charcoal color. It should arrive the 3rd week of August...
