2003 Stealthbox

Anyone installed the 03 Stealthbox yet? First where did you get it? the JL website says there out, but I can't find anyone who sells them (online or off)
Also can you give me some info on how the install went, are you happy with it, etc...

Oh yeah, what AMP are you using, where is it installed?

Nope. Got sick of waiting for it so I had the stereo shop custom build my center console to house a 10" Xtant Hex sub. You can check out pictures at;

Ah, I was looking for your post... I saw it the other night but forgot to bookmark it... nice install. Where did you mount the AMP?

Thanks for the compliment! The amp is under the rear driver's side seat, for now. That is until I find a clever place to put it.

Mr. Clark, go to http://www.jlaudio.com/dealerfind.cfm to find your nearest local dealer. You'll most certainly have to order it; the JL dealers that I know don't keep Stealthboxes in stock. I've installed several of their stealthboxes over the years and they have all sounded great, the truck console box sounds excellent as well. As for finding an online dealer of JL, you may come across someone selling the products, but they will not be a factory authorized dealer capable of providing you with a JL warranty. JL has always been quite strenuous in their policing of the internet to prevent unauthorized sales, thus they have been quite popular with brick-and-mortar stores trying to compete in todays tough mobile audio market, unlike so many other once higher end companies like Kicker, Rockford Fosgate and so many others dumping product all over the WWW seemingly just spite their traditional dealers.

JL's dealer list is ery out of date, but I found a guy today. The problem with JL not going to the web is that they provide way less value then the other name brands. Example...

250.1 amp from dealer = 399.99
250.1 amp from web = 259.95 w/ free shipping

I just ordered mine, I will install it sometime in the new 2-3 weeks with a the JL 250/1 Amp... I will let ya'll know what I think.

Thought I would let ya'll know what is going on with this. STILL NOT F**KING FIXED.

JL sent me to another install, thier best in Boston... he looked at it and said... nope, will not fit. Then they sent me another box... nope still will not fit.

I strongly urge you DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT, it does not fit an 03 AV, the install is unbeleavable complex, the instructions are totally inaccurate, your better off to get subs put else where.

I just spoke with "Sound in Motion" and asked about the Stealth box. Without bringing up anything about Mr's Clarks situation, he told me they had one person (Mr. Clark I assume) who had a defective box, adn he wasen't sure how they had made out. However in general the JL boxes sound and fit great. I'm going to take a ride by there in the next day or so since it's only about 15 minutes from me and check it out. I'll let you guys know if I find out anything new.

If you get yours done at SIM let me know how it goes, but the box was NOT deffective. We had origionally thought that (me, the installers at SIM, and the JL Rep) but I have now installed an brand new box, and the same problem exists. Here is a picture of the box installed... looks perfect doesn't it?

myBlack, even if you don't get an Stealthbox, use SIM to fo the work, they really do amazing work.
