I read that Pontiac will be coming out with a completely new 2004 Grand Prix, to be released late in 2003. It supposed to be based on a concept vehicle. Does anybody know what this will look like or the specs?

Based on the Pontiac G-Force Concept which was hardly disguised at all. If the pics don't come out, you can go to thecarconnection.com or detroitnews.com and get the info. I don't think this is a Lutz inspired car, but the interior is Infinately better!!!javascript:zoom('/images/gallery/6010_image.jpg');

More TCC Spy Shots

Looking more and more like the G-Force Concept shown earlier this year, the 2004 Grand Prix is expected to make an early introduction during the first part of the 2003 calendar year.

Powered by a 3.8-liter Series II V-6 ? in both normal and supercharged versions ? the new Grand Prix will be riding on a modified W-platform and will likely be available in four-door versions only.

The Oshawa, Ont.-built Grand Prix will likely make its official debut during the early 2003 auto show season.

Sorry, couldn't get the pics to post, but go to either of those sites and you can see it. Also, I think Pontiac has some pics of the G-Force on their site.

The only thing that stuck out form what I read in Motor Trend was that the cladding was going to be removed on all Pontiacs. Yes, they have cladding, just not textured!

Check out some of our new Pontiac's by viewing GM's Australian manufacturer, Holden. The Holden Commodore. Several of the Holden cars will be transformed into GM Pontiacs for sale in the US.

I kind of like the SS UTE

Personally, here is one car that will (sadly) kick Chevy's ass: Mercury Marauder. I'm not saying the Caprice was the most elegant car in the Chevy stable, but the 454 SS version was striking. Now Chevy has nothing to compete with this very cool car until the Holden Commodore SS becomes part of GM North America's Pontiac family. I was also told by some true car guys at a local dealership that the Camaro/Firebird/Trans Am will be back in about 2-3 years re-skinned on new race-inspired chassis' and should be pretty excellent cars.

The Impalla SS wasn't a 454, it was a 350, a version of the Vette engine. Also, I'd like to know where those car guys got their information since GM is saying there are no plans at this point for a near future F car. :B:

I have seen the show car version of the 2004 Grand Prix in person. It was at the 2002 Pontiac - Oakland Club International car show in Charleston, WV in July. It is a VERY stunning, good looking car. The interior is beautiful also. If the production version is close to what I saw - they will be very popular!!! No doubt!!! ;D

Is the new grand prix to be used as the new NASCAR body for Pontiac or will it be the new Holden body GTO coming soon Inquiring minds want to know ??? ???

Grand Prix.....already Nascar tested and approved!! ;D

BTW, the Kodak team is switching from Chevy to Pontiac for next year's Nascar circuit. Interesting considering that Joe Gibbs announced that his team would be going to Chevy. I have a feeling that there is some powerful behind the scenes lobbying going on by Pontiac right now. They don't want to lose the "excitement" badge before the GTO even comes out! >:D

Interesting that the Commodore might be the next "Impala SS" cuz the Monaro is to be the "GTO."
I find this interesting in part cuz the Commodore has been rumored to come here since the Impala SS left us in 1996 but couldn't be approved...Lutz comes over and "couldn't" is replaced with "can do!!!"
Impala SS (1994,95,96) can SMOKE a Marauder (current version) and Mercury KNOWS IT!!!
Never underestimate the power of TORQUE...The Marauder handles better, maybe rides better and arguably "looks" better inside and out but TORQUE still carries the day! :B: >:D ;D ;) (y)

Don't let it happen... I'm sure the Commodore is lots smaller than the Impala. But then if you want to buy an Australian version maybe I can be of some assistance. ;)
