Has anyone installed the new evolution for the 2007 gas engines yet. If so what are your results?
 
I get mine today and am going to get it put in. I have no other mods yet but I would think just the programmer should make quite a difference.  We will see.
 
Anyone have any suggestions as to the best vendor for buying one?

 
I just got off the phone with Nate at Edge products. He has 4 or 5 of the beta test units available. I originaly spoke to Tom Karlin who was the President of the company at the time. I was supposed to coordinate the beta testing for the older trucks but they never completed the project. I got impatient and installed my supercharger instead. >:D When I saw this post I called them to find out what was going on and to see if I can still help with the beta testing by offering this to CAFCNA members.

The good news for you 07 owners, is because my testing never happened they have agreed to sell the whole package for 200.00 for everything. I'm sure it is on a first come first serve basis and I'm sure you will have to agree to give some feedback as part of the beta process.

$200.00 for the whole thing?  I paid 449.10 for mine. Wow I got screwed.
 
You didn't get screwed. You actually paid 50 less than retail. This is a special beta test program that you wouldn't have known about. You can always try and return yours and get in on the program. The beta test is actually already finished because the product is out.
 
Thanks but I got mine off ebay so no returns. What other mods should I try with this programmer if it alone doesnt do what I want?
 
Well the programmer is in and so far so good. Still doggy off the line but first to second shift really livened up. Was thinking about exhaust now. I am thinking about replacing the stock muffler with a flowmaster but what is the small muffler in the back by the exhaust outlet?  Thanks

I believe that's a resonator
 
Last I heard the the Edge is not approved to run in California except offroad (no biggy) and it is not recommended for flex fuel vehicles by the manufacturer (Edge)....

"In California, the Edge Evolution is only legal for racing and off-road vehicles and may not be used on the highway.

Flex Fuel Vehicles: fueling with E85 is not recommended in conjunction with your Edge Evolution unit. Burning E85 reduces efficiency and power compared to using gas, which nullifies the effect of Edge Evolution's programming. "

Also everything I have heard to date says that the shift firmness is the only benefit seen. Fuel economy is the same and little to no performance gains except for the diesel crowd. Also heard of an issue or 2 while towing in Level 3....

Overall most would buy it again because it looks cool on the dash and it has most of the benefits of a handheld. It has the added capability of monitoring the truck and has an accelerometer feature that has a "wow" factor....

Personally, for the 450 to 550 dollar retail price I see better benefit from HPT or EFI Live.... but that's just my opinion.

 
No. I contacted Edge and they are going to exchange my pod fo the correct pod in July according to the guy I talked to. They are sending a free return label when they ship my correct pod.
 
Which power level of the program have you used so far ?  I have only used the Economy mode at this time and have notice alot better performance.

Have you tryed the Extreme performance mode yet ?

I have tried level 3 for a little while and noticed a little gain although I haven't hooked the trailer up yet. Level 2 is where I am now and am just seeing how the fuel economy is on that setting. Do you have any other mods? Any suggestions what to replace the stock muffler with? Also since I am not going to replace all the exhaust pipe just the muffler should I replace the resonator to or will it be ok?
 
bbehle, I have no mod's as of yet but I am going to put a Volant cold air intake on and cut off the resonator.  I saw the volant make a exhaust  tip section if you are going to cut off the Resonator.

Also did you go online yet and update your Edge Evolution?  if so which version of the updates are you using ?

I have noticed 2-3 mpg gain in level 2 with a 200 mile drive.

Let me know where.  I had an Edge EZ module on my Duramax and it was night and day difference.  I put about 30K a year on a vehicle so anything that will get me an extra MPG or two peaks my interest.

I am wondering if the recommend putting a larger exhaust on to get rid of the hotter gasses...

A lot of people, like me, don't want to mess with all the parameters  in HPT.  It can be a little overwhelming.  I would rather use a tuner that is pre-set.

No problem with that at all.... thats how most people learn.... plus, unless you have a moderately modified truck, it may not be worth the effort to learn to tune... I started out with the predator.... it has it's uses...

I have been trying to get a the mods to approve a group buy.  I have a supplier set up to sell it to 1-2 people for $385 and 3 or more for $375.  I have been waiting on word back from them for 2 weeks.
