So apparently my PVC valve is built into the valve cover and can not be removed. What's the best way to clean this magnificent piece of engineering 😂

Been like that for a long time.

Pull off the valve cover and clean away.

As an aside, there was an updated valve cover issued many years ago that addressed problems with excessive oil consumption.

While you are at it, you might want to make sure you have the updated valve cover installed.

Only the left (driver's side) valve cover is updated.

That's the one with the built it PCV device.

Also, if you are going to pull the valve covers, get a FelPro valve cover gasket kit, while you are at it.

I think you can tell by popping off your existing valve cover and having a look at the baffle (this is the PCV metering device) that is attached to the inside of the valve cover.

I believe if yours has the small round hole in the baffle as show in this picture, then you have the old style cover.

(This picture is over the valve cover on my 2004 EXT and may possibly be different than yours. But, I don't think so.)

If your valve cover has the square hole, then it has already been upgraded.

Since you have to remove it to clean it, just have a look and see what you can find out.

Thank ya Sir. Think I will wait till the weekend so I have time to just replace if needed.

There are videos on you tube that claim you can drill some extra 3/16" holes along the bottom edge of the Baffle portion and increase the existing drain oil a little larger 5/16" the excess oil will drain bank onto the head and not be sucked into the PCV valve hence burning it. I recommend changing to the up grade but that is suppose to be a cheap fix.
