This will certainly address the concerns of those who thought the current H3 was underpowered. :)

I cannot remember the size of engines that the Trailblazer used.  The Trailblazer SS used the LS1 from the Corvette, but I cannot remember the displacement.  It might be 5.3L but I do not know.  A couple people in town have the Trailblazer SS and I love the look and would love to drive one.

Trailblazers used an inline 6...only the SS had a V8.....I womder how much of a price jump you will see for the V8. If it comes too close to a tahoe price then I would rather have the interior size of the Tahoe with a V8 than a smaller H3

I have spoken to several Hummer dealers who have received preliminary information and it looks as though the premium will not be that expensive, perhaps $5,000.  This seems too low in my opinion, but if the only change to the H3 Alpha is the engine and differential housings, that might be realistic.

GM has indicated that today, April 4, we should be receiving all of the details.  I'll have to check tonight.  Been running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to tie up loose ends at my current job and starting my new one tomorrow.

Trailblazers had the 4200 i6 (what I had in mine), with the 5.3l optional in the Trailblazer EXT (started production in 03).? In one of the last couple of model years the 5.3l started being an option on the non-EXT Trailblazer (then the EXT went out of production, imagine that).? The 6.0l with a 4L65E tranny arrived with the Trailblazer SS only.

I don't know what the H3's weight is, so it'd be hard to guesstimate the performance differences between the TB and the updated H3.? I know the 4200 i6 has been rated anywhere between 270 and around 292 horsepower since the Trailblazer's introduction, with torque being 275 (maybe increased some too over time but I never looked into it).? The 4200 w/4L60E is actually a very strong performer in the standard length Trailblazer, though a bit weak on the bottom.? Unfortunately I can say the same for the 5.3L w/4L60E, just based on both my 04 Silverado and the 07 Av's performance.

At any rate I'd think there is more space inside the Trailblazer than the H3, though the Hummer is most definitely better equipped for any real off-roading you might want to do with it.  GM more or less neutered the GMT360's straight out of the factory with extra low ground clearances (yup, less than the 07 Av's front valance, based on my recollection of my own TB).  Regardless, mine went pretty well everywhere I ever tried to take it, and worked especially good in bad weather conditions like rain, snow, and ice.

Nice looking H3. I have been looking at them. Wish they would come out with the "truck" version like they did for the H2.

GM has confirmed that it will be available.  I believe next year, if I recall.
