24 hour test drive

Hi,
I just found this site a week a go! What a resource. By far the best organized vehicle site I've ever visited. Great work!

I read that someone just took a 24 hour test drive. Is Chevrolet still doing that? If so, for how long? I test drove an Avalanche the other day and asked the salesman about it. He told me they weren't doing it anymore.


If so, can someone give me the details for how it works?

Next week we are taking a day trip to Prescott, two hours away from Phoenix, I'd love to take it then and really see what it does. Is that within the parameters or would I be taking advantage of it?

Lastly, I probably won't be able to buy for another 6-12 months. waiting for a raise and my wife's car's pay-off. Is there any immediate intent to buy clause? I want to do this before the program ends.

Just did it yesterday... I just asked and they told me the Avalanche that they use for the 24 hour test deive was out. So I told the salesman to ask the manager if I could take the one I was interested in buying.. after a few min they said OK. I drove home a fully loaded AV. Dropped it back off, no pressure. Told the sales guy I wanted to think about it some more.... and went and bought one at another dealer. Worked out great. Real easy, minimal paperwork. no hassles.

I too did this when I was looking at a new truck. They gave me the AV for the day and when I brought it back the next day my sales guy told me to hang on to it until they would give me what I wanted for my trade in and the deal was complete becasue he was afraid another sales person would sell the truck and Base 4x4's are very hard to come by down here FL (at least thats what he said, I only found 3 in the online listing)!!!

Five days later I brought the truck in with an extra 350 miles on it! I told them I want a discount on it since it now had 435 miles total on it. HAHAHA They actualy went with that and gave me exactley what I wanted for my trade in and gave me the truck for $1,200 under invoice... WOOHOO
