Goodyear says that the diameter of the 285/75-16 and the 305/70-16 MT/R's are the same at 33". The only difference that I can see is the width (305's about 1" wider). Then if some members are running the 285/75-16's with no lift - will the 305's work or are they too wide?

I have the Ford keys installed and gained 2" in the front and thought if the 285's will work why not go with the 305's.

Thanks,

You gained 2 inches when the truck is at rest... but when the suspension compresses, you're still going to shove a large tire up into the fender. If you're trying to turn at the same time, I think you'll probably get some rub. If some rubbing doesn't bother you, you do some fender well mods, and aren't into crazy rock crawling, you can probably get away with 305's.... IF you really got a true 2 inches out of the front "lift".

Check out other threads here regarding backspacing of the wheels too...that can make a huge difference.

I have Goodyear MTR 305/70R16's on my Avlanche. They do rub a little. But, I only rub when I'm parking. I think it is cause I crank the wheels really hard when you park. But, other then that I have not rubbed. There is a threads started on this already though go here. if you want some closer pics I'm sure I could get some. Just let me know.
