3M Clear Bra

Must... :E: fight..... :beating:  urge to  :E: >:D r  e s p o n d. :beating: :E: >:D

I was also looking into this.  I was quote $750.00 OTD.

front bumper corners, headlights, fog lights, 18" wrap up over the hood, rocker panels below the factory trim.

I'm not sure I'm going to do it yet.  I know it will help protect the paint, but on a black truck, your going to see the scratches in the clear bra also.

Maybe Line X?  >:D  Now that's "real" cladding.

It's not scratches I'm worried about. It's the damn bugs here. In south Alabama/Northwest Florida we have little teeny bugs at night that cover the front of your truck and different bugs in the daytime, then theres late July/early August when the dreaded love bugs come out!!! seems like I have to wax the hood/front bumper almost every other time I wash it. Plus I've had bug shields and don't really care for them. This is a film I had on a car before. I just hate it's so friggin expensive!! :E:  :B:

Gotcha!  May spray some "OFF" on the truck?

I hear ya on the bugs.  I used to live in WI.  HAted the bugs there!

You have want to have your mirror caps done too.

I've been trying to figure out what to do with this myself...? I tried to install a bumper kit by myself and ended up wadding that $250 SOB up and slamming it in the trash can.? :cuss:? I'm good with a wrench, not a squeege it would appear.? >:D

But I still want to do it! :D? I tried calling about 3-4 places here in DFW and none of them called me back, except a guy in Frisco that wanted to do a custom cut version that I wasn't too keen on.

You can get the full on kit on ebay for about $320, I just want to pay someone to put it on! :needhug:

I hear ya charlie. I'm thinking you're going to spend around 350 to 400 to have someone do it more than likely. That's hard to swallow for me for damn clear window tint on the hood and bumper!!  :E: But I do know it does work!  :sigh:  :B:

I had the upper bumper, lower bumper, grille, hood, fender, mirror, headlight (&fog), wheel opening kits installed on my new black LTZ.? Total cost was $875 - the installer through in the gas cover, door handle cups, and door edge trim.? Not cheap but great long term protection from bugs & rocks!

I had mine done. I didn't do the front part of the hood since I had a bug shield there already but did do about 8" up the side of the hood past the bug shield and the rest of the front. Also, the painted part of the mirrors.

I do a lot of business with the graphics guy here. He charged $500. He said it was a "deal" but wasn't sure because I hadn't priced it anywhere else.

I'm suprised at the cost of this mod... seems like it's WAY too high...

I just had this done on my 07  paid 600 installed for hood number headlights foglights and mirrors.  I am good friends with the owner of the company here in tampa so if anyone else needs it let me know he sells them via the internet also  shoot me an email schwartz22@gmail.com

I had the 3M installed on our '08 Audi TT for $700, which included complete front end wrap, hood & mirrors. It's black and beings its so low slung, just imagined what it would look like in a year or two. I'm very happy with the results.

I plan on getting it on the Av but only on the bumper sections since I have mudflaps and a hood deflector.

I had the 3M done on my 2006 which lived the majority of its life in Florida so bugs were no stranger and it worked FANTASTIC!  The guts just rinse right off!!  It also never had a scratch anywhere the 3M was....

I just had it done to my 2007 (Colorado) and though this truck hasn't been on the road enough to know anything about how it's working out I knew I wanted it.  I paid $499 to have it dealer installed upon purchase.

Out of curiousity, did the 3M ever begin showing signs of yellowing/discoloring as it aged?

I had the 2006 from March '06 until last week so just under a year and half before I totalled it but in that period of time it never showed signs of anything... it always looked brand new to me... the truck always shined up nice where the 3M was...  Only wish I would've had it long enough to actually 'age' lol

I was just looking for this stuff today for another application and came across this website. They sell pre-cut kits but they will also sell it in bulk...cheap.

It doesn't look easy to do a custom job with it but if you are patient it could save you a bunch of cash. Of course it would help if you had some buddies to buy some from you, since it comes in 120' rolls for the 8 mil.
