I did a major relandscaping project at my home. I kept needing more and more shrubs and bushes. On my third trip I saw a Ford F250 Super Duty Diesel...he just sort of looked at my Avalanche and snubbed it. As I was leaving with 5 bushes, 6 bags of mulch and an 8ft tree...I looked over and just smiled and waved as he was trying to place his 8ft tree in the back of the bed while it hung way out the end...the look on his face that my tailgate was shut was priceless.

Gas for 3 trips across town to the nursery - $40
All the landscaping plants - $1100
New sprinkler system - $5000

Look on Ford owners face when tailgate shut - PRICELESS

I know that was tacky...but if you all could have been there!

I did something similar to my own father. He gives me a lot of crap about the "tonka toy" I drive. Well we were remodeling the bathroom in the house and we filled up the bed of his truck with the trash. He suddenly realized we could not go to town and get the needed plywood and supplies so he could start right away.

I volunteered my AV. He told me it couldn't hold the plywood. I told him it could. He told me it couldn't. I broke out a tape measure and proved it could.

So we drove into town and loaded up 6 sheets of sheetrock, 8 sheets of fiberboard, about ten 2x4's and a few other miscellaneous supplies. And I still managed to keep the tops on and close the tailgate. On the way home it started to rain. All that stuff was high and dry in the back of the bed.

Dad was very impressed. He doesn't give me crap any more. He even went so far to say that if he only drove around during the day and didn't need a full sized truck bed, he would definitely consider a AV. That was a HUGE step in the right direction. :B:
