Hey Gandolph Man,

I had the same problem on my Camero but can you get an over-ride that keeps the fog lights on while you flip on the brights? Can you even set it up where you have all three pairs of lights or even all four pairs of lights on at the same time? What would be the implication of doig that?

Gandolph knows all!!! ;)

Good post, bradyb... I've been wondering the same. My first lighting upgrade, I believe, will be a heavy-duty lighting harness from kennedy diesel:

Mod 2 would be the fog over-ride like you mentioned.

Mod 3 would be backup floods that are maybe tied through a relay to the cargo lights.

Paging Xrover - the guy who has reverse engineered the BCM is your guide here, not me.

I am envisioning you coming down the road with HID hi/lo's , HID fog lights and HID NRL's - thoughts that come to mind are 30.06 ... twelve gauge ...

BTW, you may want to check out the section on dual 200 amp alternators. :p

???I installed the hi-4 system on my 2001 yukon and it actually made my high beams a little less bright. yeah you could tell a difference, but i lost they way down the road sight, but i was definetely brighter just out in front for the first 100 yards

they are black rubberI have put in all of my blazers, and now the avalanche a set of aircraft landing lights behind the grill. they will light a road sign for two miles, and the light pattern from the aircraft bulbs is narrow like a cats eye. No I don't blind other people with them, but late at night its nice to light the whole block up. I get the bulbs from Grainger for about 20 bucks each and the mounts from NAPA they are black rubber and about 30$ each. I used a continuous duty solenoid mounted under the drivers side fender, firewall brace, and got 12volts from the alternator feed box. the hardest part was pulling out the avs grill. there are clips around the edges that are hard to pop loose. the mounts go in sideways, and the lights behind the grill are in line with the stock headlights. i can dig up the part #s or post a picture if anybody wants to "light up" their av

you can see the lights behind the grill but nobody looks anyway, ------ until you flip the switch i'm trying for a digital camera, but go to napa and get the black rubber light mounts, grainger for the bulbs, chevy for a round of clips need part #s ? Mount them but use a solenoid for the wires-- I put a lighted switch to the leftside on the flatundere the ashtray light em up but watch out for the cops they are "not for highway use" right

I have to agree with gandolphxx..... I have enough people flashing me on the road thinking my brights are on.

If these lighting mod's are for off road or way out in the sticks, I agree this would provide value. ?Nothing better than seeing a deer before he jumps in front of the AV ?:)

Ya a friend had a set on his Peterbuilt with an over ride switch on his dash. Dear hell, hit an 1,100 lb moose..... Well anyway he got brighted one night and he flashed back not thinking that they were set to go off with the highes. Once the State cop got back onto the highway Rays rearend was chewed north to south. I liked the lights though.

Yo Got_Change

give us the details on your landing lights...

part numbers and where to get them, instructions, etc.

thanks

is all soldered gotta go .... get you harness goingstckbrkr, get the bulbs, they are kinda like firecrackers, you can buy um but your not supposed to use em.. grainger, igot a set at lightbulbs unlimited, .....bandits, but iwas dumb , pre rig them truck now by getting a CONTINIOUS DUTY SOLENOID, not a start solenoid. pop your avs hood and look at the brace from the fender to the firewall. its a smooth curved brace with one5/16 hole already in it. i took mine off, bolted with a jam nut the solenoid, use 12 ga. wire with the thick eye ends and make up your harness to power the two landing lights
