I am considering adding foglights to my 07; they did not come with any :E: :E:  I need some suggestions on which ones to get. Don't hold back, please  :help:

Personaly, with a "new" 07, I'd pay the ridiculous amount of$$ and get thefactory set up.

Just my .02

I don't know if anyone makes aftermarket fog lights yet... I know that they don't make bulbs for HIDs yet... everything has to be retro fitted...

He probably suggests that so it wont look like some rigged up cheap job ?:D I mean if you have the ability to mount up something else and you like the way it looks...go for it ?

Why do you suggest going that route?

Guess, it depends on what your looking for.  I would prefer to have as much "factory" equiptment as possible. Those brakets and lights are meant for the bumper.  So, there "should" be NO issue on fit and finish.  I would prefer to ensure "factory look" fit and finish as oposed to the possibility of having something "chopped" up that may or may not last.

I'm sure there are some aftermarket applications that will fit. It's just my preference to have the factory parts. (Of all the mods I have done to my AV, I never "replaced" a factory option, only modified it, or added other options.)

Thats just me.

I got ya (y)

Other than factory, any specific foglights that can be suggested?  Just keeping my options open  >:D

I have to assume you dont have the Z71 (with rectangular lights) So, your needing the round ones??

Maybe someone can give you the diameter of them to start searching who makes that size.  Also maybe a picture of how they are supported behing the bumper.  Depending on whats back there or not back there mounting (without) vibration may also be a concern.

I'm about to head out and take some pics of my fuse box, I can crawl down there and see what I can come up with...

OK... so here's about all I could figure out... the bulb is 4 inches in diameter, and the housing is pretty well hidden up under the bumper.  I was able to snap some photos, but could not get my hands in there for measurements.  I would check and see if you have the plastic housing to hold the bulb in place before you did anything...

Here is a closer shot of the wiring and the end of the housing...

Thanks Freebie..... (y)

I will check on the foglight housing today when I get home.  I guess I will just try and find something to fit....trial and error

I would check with Van Devere or DeLillo Chevy, I think I remember reading somewhere they give quite a discount to CAFCNA members, and free shipping?  Or something like that...

not yet; I do plan on calling them to find out what it would cost.? :B:

Any update on this?

While I was at the dealer trying to figure out the "proper" removal order for the fogs I was told that If the vehicle came WITHOUT fogs and fogs were later installed. (Factory fogs) The BCM would have to be flashed.

This is not the case if adding aftermarket lights with their own aux. switch.

Nope, it seems that I have put this mod on the backburner  :E: :E:  What do you mean by flashing the BCM?

I'm pretty sure that he means the Body Control Management Computer needs to be updated so it knows the fogs are installed. I'm guessing the little dash switch for the dome lights might need to be swapped out as well for one w/ the switch for the fogs on it (or is the switch already there, w/ a non-functioning fog option?).
