Anyone know if someone is making one yet. I backed up into a concrete pole and put a good dent on mine.

Haven't heard of one, but I've been looking for a bumper that was a little more heave-duty. Will let you know if I find one.

Sorry about your bump. I feel your pain.

Ouch, that would make me... :8: if I backed into a pole. At this point, you are probably going to have to get a replacement from :B:

When I got the little cut in the bumper, the insurance adjuster quoted me $1100 for the rear bumper cover. The service guy at the dealer sold it to me for $200. Here's the cut:

But you should see the other guy!!!

Thanks for the help. I will call the dealer Mon. The plastic cover only has a few scratches. I am only going to replace the bumper and one of the brackets. The rear bumper is very weak and thin. I tried to hammer out the dents but made it worse. If I go with the stock bumper I will also look into a backing aid system. If I had a backing aid I would have not hit the pole.

gandolph is right. WAAG does make a rear bumper guard for the AV. I got a front grill guard from them on order. Their web site has been updated to include pictures of their products mounted on a black AV. You'll notice that the rear guard does not cover the corner steps so your corners are still exposed to dings, but are still usable.

Hey, Guys:

I have the rear bumper guard on my AV, and it looks superb! I also have the rear light guards and front brushguard, so everything compliments one another. It also doubles as a nice secondary step. :)

Let me know if anyone needs pictures...

Cheers,
Justyn~

Socrates please send me some pics. The more the merier. I like the way the Ave looks on the WAAG site. It is giving me the itch..

BTW, I find that this makes an excellent rear protector:

That Waag Av...looks damn sharp....Only a matter of time before these aftermarket items start to become more available and popular....

Looks like the new bumper is going to cost me about $500. I would really like to have a aftermarket for that much. Anyone know of other sites that have bumpers. The factory bumper is very thin. I would hate to have to get a bumper then another bumper guard. Kind of seems point less to have 2 bumper. Check out the small dent :8:

I already got the Rhino hitch step and am pleased. (Like the Av isn't long enough as it is!) If I feel something go "Bump" behind me I know it's the RhinoBar and not anything fragile (like the Av bumper.) It seems solid, installs easily, (use a locking hitch pin - the Masterlock one is at Walmart) and looks good. Maybe it could be a little wider. I've a pic at my Web site.

Waag does make a rear bumper guard. The part number is 16744. I ordered the Frontrunner today from Bestdarnparts.com. They gave me a price of $285.00. There is no extra charge for shipping and handling. No sales tax because it is an out of state sale on the net. I am giving serious thought to the rear guard now. My only problem is I WANT IT NOW! Always had a problem with patience.

This thread has just convinced me that I need a rear step. Where is the best deal available?

I have the exact same setup on my AV, RhinoBar and Masterlock (y) (y)

But I just dented my 3 week old 2003 rear bumper. Missed my Rhinobar by 2" :9:

Parts for this mistake of mine $700 - $800 :8:

I can get a great deal (just above wholesale) on WAAG products. If someone wants to put together a group buy I'll place the order and get them sent out assuming someone else handles collecting the $, clearing the checks and providing the order info.
