got my AV aligned at the dealer. took off in the truck. heard this clunking noise from frontend on drivers' side. when brakes were applied the steering would pull hard to the left. if brakes were applied hard the steering wheel would pull that much harder.
come to find out the guy who did the work left my upper control arm forward bolt loose. to make along story short i took it back to them to complain. al they offered to do was fix it. i was upset of course.
when i left with the truck this time it pulled tot he opposite side. i went back today to get this straight. i told them i wanted my money back, a truck to drive, and the problem fixed. oh yeah, my A/C panel only lit on the left sdie for some reason.
the truck is fixed, the A/C part will be in tomorrow, and the check will be ready for me so i can get my money back. i am still pissed, but they did admit to incompetance on the part of their tech and my money back. i am satisfied.
the thing that worries me is if this would have happened to someone else who did not pay attention to, or know cars like i do could have been hurt or killed because this guy did not tighten the steering components. :8:

You drove all the way to STI with the brake problem didn't you. I thought that you mentioned that when we were talking. That is scarry. When I went to get my tires balanced yesterday the place used the wrong kind of weights so they all fell off when they were backing the truck out. But they fixed it on the spot. Some places just don't care about quality of work anymore.

02-Z66, I was in to our local Chevy Dealer(not my dealer) to get some parts for my buddy's truck. While waiting for the parts I heard loud crash and OOOOHHHHSH**t from the shop. A few minutes later a"tech" walks into the parts area with a small chunck of alluminum and dropped it on the counter. It was from the oil pan on a nice Chevy truck which slide off the hoist. Service manager only asked if it was leaking "tech" said no. The manager said ok don't worry about it but be carefull next time. I had to say something but the service manager told me to mind my bussiness. I told him if see that truck I will tell the owner what I saw. I haven't see it. I will never allow my Av inside that shop. Matt

buts thats just me

i wanted to. believe me i wanted to. but i think i got my point across better by talking rather than yelling.
there was a gentleman at the dealer today "yelling" at the service guy. the service dude was not really listening. but, i be the guy felt better getting that frustration off his chest. they did not look like they were really jumping out their seats to help him out.
yeah, i was real luky that nothing happened while i was driving. that would have sucked. maybe i would have owned that dealership. i could give all the members free AV's. >:D

that's just wrong. i believe you owe it to that to the owner of that vehicle. the dealership should have enough integrity to admit they were wrong, and fix the problem. at least apologize and offer compensation.

Is there a religious reason why you are not listing the dealer or at least giving us a location of the dealer so "we" can follow your lead and not get burned by their grease monkies. ???

yes, actually there is. for one i do not want to slander a business who was willing to right their wrong once confronted. i think no matter what dealer you go to they cheat you in shape, or fashion. so i just say watchout for deaker "slickery".
for the most part i have no problem with these guys. they gave me a great deal on my AV. they just have a loser that works for them. like most employers i think they were trying to save face, and protect the tech at the same time.
while i spoke with the service writer i mention the owner's name. i told him i wanted to talk to him. he is usually walking around greeting customers, and what not. when i metioned hi name everyone in the service office got real quiet, and serious. "there's no reason for that." "we will get this resolved to your satisfaction." i was told by one of the employee's. must have hit a nerve. i am satisfied now.
