My wife and I are going to the Aloha Festival on the 20th of March. We would like to know if anyone else is interested in celebrating the Hawaiian culture. It will be held at SCience and Heritage Park in downtown Phoenix. It is free, but you may have to pay $5 for parking. It should be a wonderful event, packed with dancing, singing, and best of all, the food. Just post here if interested. I am not sure if this is considered a GTG. More like spending the day with a bunch of friends. I have provided a link to the Festival below. Mikesav.

P.S. It would be beneficial to teach your kids about other cultures. This is an educational GTG.

We are free to go. You can put us down for 2.

It should be interesting. It will probably be the closest I will get to anything hawaii. :D

Being the picky food eater I am, I wonder what I will find to eat. ???

When dey gonna have AZ festival here in Hawaii, Brah..??..

Aloha,
Murman

Okay, I have some info on the parking. Here is a link below that will bring you a map of downtown. Just click on Science and Heritage Park and it will bring up a blow up view of the parking garages. We will park in the plaza east garage. I believe it is a couple bucks for parking. I think the parking can be validated as well. Remember, the event starts at 10:00 am. We can meet somewhere then drive over to the parking garages together. Any ideas on where to meet? How about breakfast? Thanks, Mike.

I will have ghost check out this map since he will be doing the driving. Breakfast sounds good. If we can find a place to meet for breakfast we can drive from there to the garage together. I don't really know what places are in the area. Maybe a resturant right off of an I10 exit near downtown. I will see if ghost has any ideas.

probably not able to attend this meet, With working out of town and most places are closed when I get home or shortly there after... I need this saturday to get some odds and ends done....

Oh... and things look like they are heading south between me and someone... will explain next time I see you guys.... so no... this is not because of her. >:D

Okay, I found the missing piece to the puzzle. I have a link below of a restaurant called "Coco's". They are exactly 1.42 miles from Science and Heritage square. The "S" on the map is where the festival is and the "E" is where the restaurant is. We could meet there about 8:45ish. Alright people, lets get our asses in gear. This admission is free so I don't want to hear any excuses. If you can't meet for breakfast then we could meet at the Fest. Mikesav

We could always reintroduce you to our close friend, Clarissa. I believe you met her at Buckets. When are we going to Buckets again? People need to eat and it's not a school night, so I guess there's no reason why all 40 members can't be there >:D. Mikesav.

Can you send out a mass e-mail when we get the breakfast issue straightened out (y). Mike.

Yes.

Coco's is ok with me. ghost still not around to give his opinion yet. But I am sure it will be fine with him.

I mentioned on saturday about forwarding me what you wanted it to say. I was waiting for that. Sorry. I just put the basics together and sent it this morning.

Ghost is cuckoo period. ;D
Coco's is ok with him.

I believe our time is an hour later then the time stamps on the posts. The times on the post seem to be pacific time. I up getting ready for work. I got that long trek from the east to the west side.

I received an email from bigg-boy. They said they will try to be there on saturday.

We'll see you tomorrow morning at coco's. We will probably leave the house around 8:15am. Yahoo maps says 18 miles and 26 mins.

It is definately going to be a hot day. High of 95 degrees. Time to dig out the shorts and sunscreen.

I want to see a pic of that LOL (y)

glad you had fun and sorry I could not make it.... or is that why you had fun ???

Grey >:D

That would have definitely been a kodak moment. Luckily, that dude has a face that Ghost will never forget >:D. Let me paint ya'll a mental pic. The dude was a big Hawaiian guy with two ear rings in each ear and completely bald except for a patch of hair where your bangs would be >:D. He He!! That cat was wierd. We had a blast. Thanks to those who showed up, it would not have been fun without you. And for those who didn't......... It's kinda hard to meet new people, if they aren't willing to meet you  . Mikesav.

I had a good time. I wasn't there to see ghost being hit on by the big hawaiian guy. I was standing in a long line to use the ladies restroom. Maybe it wouldn't have happened if I was there. I'm sure it was funny to see.

The cost of the fair: $0.00, the cost of parking: $5.00. the cost of food and drinks: $10.00, the cost of seeing ghost get hit on: priceless. :D

We would like to thank mikesav for putting it together and I would like to thank the guys for being patient while the girls shopped.
