I'm a fairly new member of CAFCNA and after browsing around a lot, I figured out that it's almost a requirement to install amber DRL lamps to identify myself as a member of this great club. So, can I get them at a GM dealer? How much do they cost? Are the correct bulbs 4157KNA (GM part # 12450182?
Thanks for your help, anybody, in advance

3157 and 4157 are both correct numbers. Some may have an "LL" suffix (long life) or NA (natural amber). They are standard issue wedge base type bulbs available at any auto parts store (and probably much cheaper!). They are only a few bucks for a pair.

This an easy mod you can do in just a few minutes, and yes, don't buy them from the dealer. You can get them at any auto parts or Wal-Mart etc for a couple of bucks. Welcome (y)

If you didnt get them already, dont get the GE from Wal-Mart. I got a pair, and I had one blub burn out.

I got the Sylvania blubs and they are brighter and last longer than the GE.

I just installed the amber DRL's......piece of cake. Hard to believe how great a simple mod like this makes the truck look. I don't know if I'm ready to tackle the full-time DRL mod yet. I'm sure it's a bit more complicated and I'm not an electronic genius by any means. I'll have to do some investigating on this mod, Renorcr ....Tbender

It is easy...even for the electrically challenged...

I just did the FTDRL mod about two weeks ago and I'm really happy with the look.
Even my wife, who doesn't notice anything, told me how cool it looked the other night. ;D

I bought a package of two diodes from Radio Shaq and a package of four red tap splices (Buchanan) from Home Depot, so I have exactly one complete FTDRL mod kit left over. If anyone wants the kit (one diode + two splice taps) PM me with your address and I'll snail mail them to you. That's about $1.26 value ($1.63 including stamp)!

WesTexAVY's instructions in the above link are great and very easy to follow. Just be sure to make good connections with the diode and wires. ;D

The always on DRL (when Ignition is on) is a very easy mod.
I just did it in under 10 minutes. There is an earlier thread on this.
Basically once you get to the under side of the electrical box remove the green module, remove the two blue wire pin at the 2nd from right hand bottom othe module and move it the very bottom right hand corner pin. Your DRL's will always be on when the ignition is on except for when you brights are on.
