i am looking for an amplifier that will work as plug and play to replace the amp / filter unit behind the glove box. I performed a search on the forum, but was not able to get a hit.

to the best of my knowledge there is no such animal that will give you max power output. all i know of are aftermarket amps. :B:

This seems to be the most popular place for the amps..under the rear seat.....has the right amount of room and doesn't mess with the midgate operation.... :B:

that would be best. anything that puts out some watts will need plenty of room to dissipitate the heat. here is where i put my sub and amp.

Been a while since I checked in on this. Anyone find a way to replace that crossover/amp unit behind the glovebox with an aftermarket amp? The location looks pretty good if I could find a small amp. It would be slick if there was a way to plug into the existing wiring harness for the crossover. I have the crossover bypassed right now.

thanks

check the long thread about the BYPASS started by I think capecruisaider....as someone in there did the bypass and install a smal amp in there......HTH

I looked at the Blaupunkt amps, they are pretty small.

Didn't quite fit, I made a cardboard box the same size to see. But they are very small for the power they put out, would fight under the front passanger seat easily.
