It is with much sadness that I have to share that I am no longer an Avalanche owner. My 2002 was a GREAT vehicle. Not wanting to start a debate but I was very proud to have one of the "originals" with the indigo blue and cladding. unfortunantely due to a divorce, I had to re-fianance the thing about 6 months ago. If I have to have a note on a car it might as well be a new one with a warrenty. I don't want to start a "bashing" section here, but I went with the 07 Tundra. The new Av's just don't seem to have the "personality" of the older ones. Not much of a shape, the cladding is gone, etc., etc. The Tundra has great towing capacity that I need for towing a camper. The Avalanche towed it great but the Tundra has been more power. I will always cherish my days as an AV owner, and would like to be again one day.
I hope all of you get as much enjoyment out of yours as I did my Av. I will remain a member of this forum and should point out that the Tundra forum charges membership to those who are not "guests" but who actually join. What is up with that??!!

congrats on the new ride, hope it works out so you can get another av at some point. you're always welcome here

I thought that the "Original" AV owners (2002 year) have priveledges regardless if they still have them...you will always be welcome here.  Hope the Tundra keeps you safe and happy like the AV did.

Don't forget that this is a fan club, not just an owners club. Good luck to you and check in here when you can. Your 02 will surely make somebody else very happy!

Hey Blulanche: I can relate. I am still missing my cladded/02/black/lifted/big block. Heck I even slip once in a while and refer to the "new" truck as the "lanche". But as Sirshopalot says "ya gotta do what ya gotta do". I am still hangin around the forums just cause it has a great alumni and there is always something new to view. As stated "you don't have to own one to belong". And remember, you owned "The Original",  dues paid. Rockdoc

Yep, my friend's Tundra is nice especially since he got all the bells and whistles.  I did not like the interior wood trim (just like the LTZ Av copied) and I cringed when he told me about sliding the back power window down to access stuff in the interior or carry lumber.  On top of that he had to get a canopy to protect the stuff he was hauling.  I did not know how to drive some Av sense into him besides hitting his head with my mid gate when he looked at my truck.

Maybe the next design change will lure you back.

Another 02 Indigo Blue Aver here  enjoy your new ride (y)

Well they did spend 9 gazillion dollars advertising the new Tundra so I guess somebody has to buy some to help pay the advertising tab  :D
