It's nice to know a forum exists for such a great vehicle. Chevy really did their homework on this design. We love driving it. The only thing we didn't like was that it didn't sound as good as it looked. Well, I fixed that yesterday with a set of Corsa's. Got a lot of double takes from Ford P/U's, which alone, was worth it. We will be looking forward to becoming part of the family. - C.

Welcome to the club....

Now check out the mod sticky thread for newbies.....in the accessory section...lots of great tips...

Look into Amber DRL's so we know you are a member!

Thanks you two. Hmmmm...amber DRL's? Interesting. - C.

Welcome and don't hesitate in partaking in the activities...this place is more like a bed and breakfast... ;D :B:

I wonder about the legality of Green or Blue DRL's. I'm sure it depends on the state. I have seen some other mods mentioned here that obviously aren't legal. I prefer to keep my vehicle all legal. ;)

Yellow should be legal in all states - Buicks and other cars use them - blue is probably illegal in all states unless you have a permit from a govt agency - green ??

I have to agree with the G-man, the ambers would appear to be legal country-wide given the fact that the General produces vehicles with the amber DRL as oem equipment (Corvette, for example).

G-man is also correct that there exist many laws on the books of the various states regarding the use of Blue lights, you mostly see statutes permitting volunteer firemen and rescue personell to use them. I recall these statutes mostly being written to restrict the use of certain colors of lights, meaning I would not think green would be a problem in the DRLs. Goo has hands on experience with vehicle lighting violations, at least in TX, so he would be a great source

With all that said, my Blue DRLs look awesome, ask NYAvalanche, he saw them. Haven't been stopped yet, but I do kinda believe it is just a matter of time . . . :-X

Green is likely a no-go in Washington state. That is the color used for volunteer firefighters here, blue for cops, red for fire.

Hi All,

Joined the forum the day after I got my Av.

I love it so far, had it 2 weeks today. Already have added the GM Protection Kit... (Hood Deflector, Vent Visors, Mudflaps), Platinum "CHEVROLET" on the tailgate and "Avalanche" in as close to Arrival Blue as I could get on the doors and tailgate from the Stripeman.

I had an F-250 SuperDuty with a Power Stroke that a guy wanted more than I did. He walked up out of the blue and offered me $1000 more than I paid for it 18 months ago.

I was looking at a '02 Av, but got the '03 and sure am glad I did. GM did a real nice job of refinement for '03.

After I get my amber DRL's in and get it "Zaino'd" I'll post some pics.

This forum is GREAT!!!
