I can say I contributed to this! ;)....Again!
Divisional Highlights

Chevrolet - The recently-launched Equinox continued to gain sales strength with 6,500 deliveries in April. The new Colorado mid-size pickup also had a strong month with 10,461 deliveries, up 22 percent from last month. Avalanche achieved record April sales with 7,945 deliveries, 19 percent over last year. :B:

Lets see - April sales were 7,945.

April new member registrations were 804.

Roughly 10% of the new owner number.

Shazam! (although the stat is more like 9% as 89% of our members own an Avalanche - and probably even lower as there is no corelation between new buyer and becoming a member). But still our base is growing at 10% of deliveries in April. SWEET!

(y) (y) (y) Hey there selling pretty good. I guess more and more people are getting turned on to the AV. >:D

GM obviously did their research, and are seeing the benefits of the expanded AV product line. Specifically, the WBH has attracted a customer base which just couldn't handle the cladded look.

IMO, cladded or WBH, they're all AVs under the skin

How many of those 7,945 were bought by old members here trading up ?

;D (y)

traded in my 02. Sorry to see it go. :6:

Loved that truck!!!!!

Based on extrapolation of April's sales data, I'm estimating that a total of about a quarter million Avs have rolled off the assembly lines so far since inception. Is this number in the ballpark, or have there been more or less produced?

I just looked at Autoweek at the Credit Union and in year to date production it looked like GM was having a bad year. Sales were off in every car/truck I looked at EXCEPT for the AV. The Avalanche was the only car/truck that saw a sales increase in the first 4 months of 04 versus 03. Now if GM would only promote it!

I would like to see a series of ads to the effect of "Do not try this in your car/SUV or Truck"

For example:

Do not try this in your SUV!

then have a picture of Avalanche being loaded up with a ton of mulch

or

Do not try this in your pickup

and have a picture of 5 adults sitting in the AV.

or

Do not try this in your quad cab

with a picture of 22 sheets of 1/2 inch plywood in the dry.

GM always does this, they introduce a new vehicle, advertise the hell out of it, then let it fade away. I haven't seen a commercial yet that shows the WBH, only print ads, and the only thing on TV is the discount offers that show a glimps of the cladded AV. I still have people asking me about mine. One girl asked me why I always had is configured like a truck and never changed it, she thought it would change into a regular SUV like a Suburban or something. If you notice, Japanese brands promote their products all through their life cycle until they redesign it, then they promote it more! Case in point, Accord and Camry. I'm sure the Malibu and Colorado won't be promoted very well after their first or second years except with discount ads. It's very frustrating. Hell, even F*rd promotes the Mustang. Once Camaro sales started falling, they pulled the plug on advertising. It doesn't make sense to me! :E: :B:

You're right - the only time I see an Avalanche in an ad is a quick picture of it during one of those Chevy-wide sales that features a whole bunch of other vehicles.

I still think they should advertise the club like Nissan does with the Xterra group. I am sure we have more members than them :p

I guess the General figures if Av sales are up, what's the point in advertising? However, I think there are still many people that don't really know what's up with this truck because I get questions on mine all the time. If GM would throw a few more advertising dollars into the effort, I think Av sales would go through the roof.

Looks like the number of AV members for the club is going to see a record increase as well? Who keeps track of these numbers here?
