Are the Seat / Butt Warmers Smart or random?

I've noticed several times that the butt warmer comes on automatically in the morning. Is there some sensor that figures out it's cold and turns it on automatically, or is this more likely a random event? I'm pretty sure I'm not hitting the button.

I don't recall that.. did you notice the morning temp?
I remember bumping the switches easily while opening the driver's window. :-[ It was in the summer too! :-[

Thatz weird.. I drove the Av to work one morning when it was a blistering cold SoCal morning @43F; I didn't think of the butt warmer until I was about ? mile down the street :2: (BC: Before Coffee), then I switched them on manually. I wonder if that sets with a combination of temperature and driver settings memory?

What year do you have?

I do not beleive they come on any way other then hitting switch...I know this is for true on 2002......

I have an 03' 1500, no auto on seat heat. But, you would be surprised how easy it is to turn them on by accident. I do it when I am lowering my window for the tollboth all the time.

Hehe I don't know how many times I have turned them things on by accident. I got an 04 as well as was really curious if they did it automatically and I just kinda watched myself get in a time or 2 after work and I realized that it was my arm.

'03 1500 here and no auto bunn warmers - sounds like a glitch or accidentally hitting switch to me, like everybody said it is super easy to hit it by mistake.

:B:

I can't say how many times I have accidently hit that button,... It is really easy to do. On my Suburban, they actually stuck on,... got reallllly warm too,... shut off the engine cna started again, they came right back on....
The av's are just really easy to bump,...
It would be nice to have it come on at a specific temp automatically....

I have an 02 and have noticed that sometime it is on when I get in and start up the Av in the morning. I don't know if it remembers the setting if you shut off the ignition w/out turning the warmers off or what, but this has happened a few times already. I don't think it's automatic because there has been times when the temp was colder than previous times and it didn't automatically turn on.

If you are sure you didn't accidently hit the button,... do take it in. As I stated in the previous post, mine broke on my Burb,.... they ended up replaceing the entire wiring harness on the seat,... (actually the entire lower seat) This can fry wires as it did on my Burb.
