OK this is odd. My automatic head lights will not turn off. I press the dome override 4 times and they go out. I put the parking brake on and they go out.

When I put a light on the sensor ( I am guessing the 2 bulb type of things by the defog vent are them the light will not go out. What prompted this was on the way home from work I noticed my lights were on and it was day light out. Plenty of light.

Any thoughts on this people.

At least they go on thats better than no lights but I am getting ready to taek a long trip and need this thing to work right.

Wow noone has any ideas on this.. I am shocked..
OK then is ther a way to bypas the automatic light completely incase I cannot get this fixed? Not just with the dome override 4 time option.

What If I want to turn it off completely. Nothng in the manual on that.

In the '03's you turn the headlight switch to the left to shut them off manually...different for '02's I presume?

Sounds like your photosensor is bad CJ. How long did you leave the light on the sensor. There is a time delay on them so they don't flip on and off every time you go under a street light and stuff like that.
Now I feel bad I made you turn them off during the cruise :6:

I do not understand....you are saying since you put a flashlight on the sensor they do not turn off?

So in bright daylight they are on all the time as well?

I agree that it sounds like a bad sensor or wiring, but try something easier first. Try to disconnect your negative battery terminal for 20 mins to reset the logic in the computer. Things could have gotten messed up some how.

Good Luck! ;D

YEs it is an 02 and they are nto the same as 03.

Yes I left the light on it for a while.

Joeface not to worry if it was going to go bad it was going to go. No worries man.

I was going to try the battery thing today to see if that helps.

Was not sure if that woudl help or not. Thanx

Called GM and they had no clue either.

Wel I just ducked out to check the truck and they seem fine today. I guess Ill wait and see what happens.

I put a piece of paper on the sensor and they came on removed it and waited and they went out again.
