Nice looking...there is also several posts on here concerning custom bowties if you want to look at some other ideas. Welcome... (y)

I think mine are nice too. Every bowtie sold helps the Club too.
Check them out here. http://homepage.mac.com/jwco/Bowties

Chevygirl,

Note that there are different bowties for cladded and uncladded AVs. I'm not the expert on this so I am not sure if the model year makes a difference also.

From the installation description on ebay, it sounds like that bowtie is for a cladded. You might want to look at the custom bowtie threads as the differences are explained there.

BT for ALL years cladded are the same. WBH is Different...is the same as '03 and newer Silverado. They're usually pretty good on e-bay about including Silverado and Avalanche without body hardware. If it only mentions Avalanche it's a pretty good guess it's for cladded.

Guys,

I am not technical.

What is a cladded and uncladded??

Boy am I confused. Is it pretty easy to change the bowties or do I have to beg my boyfriend to do it???

cladded is the plastic body covering that runs around the bottom of the truck along the sides and covering the bumpers. i haven't changed mine but from what i've read the cladded model is easier as its just held on by clips while the uncladded av has studs that you have to unscrew which requires loosening of the radiator cover and reaching in between the radiator and grille. someone please correct me if i'm mistaken

That bowtie is -fur' sure- a cladded AV bowtie.
That price is not bad.

A stock bowtie from the dealer for a cladded AV will now cost you around $30
They used to be a little cheaper, but JoeW. and I have been buying so many, GM thinks they have a gold mind on their hands. >:D

It looks like since students are making them they aren't really doing it to make money but just for practice and any profit is a bonus. Mistakes they can strip and start over. After working so hard learning to make one just right they want to see it live on so they sell it on E-Bay

Les, I know you took Dec off, but whenever you get back into the swing of things maybe you could let me know if you could do something like this with the 3D type look to it?

Thanks.

Apologies for highjacking this thread. Not sure how I did it, aside from being clumsy! ???

Cross-referenced with the correct thread.

Thanks!

I have a new website address for my Patriotic Flag bowties. It is- http://web.mac.com/jwco/iWeb/Site/Bowties.html
Thanks for looking.

Here is a picture of mine.  This is the factory bowtie.  We removed it, sanded it, then primed, painted black and then clearcoat. You can put decals on them too.  Just use your imagination.
