Interesting!
I compared it to the F*rd Expecursion? If I wasn't biased and didn't need the SUV passenger capacity, I would have picked the Av immediately. :B:
Makes me wonder why anyone would pick the F*rd Excremention over a 'burb! it's beyond me!

While at the car show last weekend.... I saw nothing that stood out.

But.... I came away with a few questions.

Q. Why would you spend $62,000 on a Landcruiser?
Q. Has the Dodge Ram always been this tinny?
Q. Why did I think Cadillac was an upgrade?
Q. Nissan Titan? Why? and is it really?
Q. SSR or Infinity 430 SC? tough choice >:D
Q. Why would anyone buy a Drof? they're ugly!

I'm spoiled... the AV is purrrrrfect! ;D  :B:

Dan, did they happen to have the new Volkswagen Microbus concept vehicle there? Rumors are that it will possibly be available as a production rig in 2005. It bears a minimal resemblance to the micro of years gone by.

NO.. they really didn't have any concepts except the Scion. It was a little disappointing.

Hundreds of cars and trucks... but they were this years models.

Overall it was a good show.... not any breakthroughs though

Anytime we can rub it in the faces of the F@#D owners...It's a good thing.

Nice to be on the good side of comments :B:

Last week I rode in the back seat of a new Exploder (actually the middle seat). The third row seat was folded down. As we drove along, the noise in the back of this vehicle from tires and wind was so loud I could not hear the conversation going on in the front seats. And every time the Exploder hit a bump it jarred right through my body. Independent rear suspension my a$$! I was not DELIGHTED to be in that Exploder at all. :8:

I will never again doubt the statement that the Av rides like a car. :B:

From the story:
Darrel Edwards, Strategic Vision founder and president, discovered during development of the TDI that even though customers were satisfied or very satisfied with their vehicle purchase, it didn't necessarily mean they were delighted consumers. When a customer is truly delighted, there is "a strong emotional response that commits the customer to the product, brand or manufacturer," noted Edwards.

Well this is something we already knew. As I've noted before General Motors told me that brand loyalty on the Avalanche was second only to the Corvette among all GM lines. We love our trucks and we're very passionate about them.

This would be my guess on why the Subaru Baja, which is just about useless from a pickup truck stand point, even for a compact pickup truck took the small truck category. Subaru owners are a very loyal bunch. Looking at the range of scores 588 seems to be on the lower end - but if you put on a bell curve close to "average" for all the scores.

It's a great truck - but we already knew that. Kudos to the General for more proof positive that the Avalanche is an absolute winner!

Every time I have driven or been a passenger in a Ford Explorer I've been surprised at how poor the ride quality is. It's not that the ride qualtiy is "bad" - it's actually not that bad, but the level of expectation because of the hype is set in such a way that I get in one and find it bouncy, crowded, and "truck like" for a better word.

The Avalanche for a 6K pound TRUCK rides like a limo...

I see a lot of resemblance. The headlights are obviously different, but in the general lines of the vehicle I see many similarities.

I sure know I am delighted with the AV so far. Last week Av in shop for body work and loaner a dodge ram 1500 4x4 quad cab. 4 Days what a piece of ****.
Hemi seemed powerful but the interior noise level from the road high, suspension rough compared to my 89 F150 4x4. I am sure glad I didn't get one. I was looking but not very long. The A pillar wanted to reach into my skull and the dash is horibble, and no bucket seat option at all.

Great to be an AV owner
