I received a Survey yesterday from General Motors on New Vehicles. I was quite surprised to find a crisp one dollar bill in it. It made me wonder. How many people threw theirs in the trash. I'm not talking about the dealer survey. Just a heads up incase you get one in the mail. Might as well fill it out and earn a dollar. Or at least get the dollar. ;D

I can't remember the last time I had a dollar bill this crisp. I saved it just because it was fresh. I finally received my License plates (didn't get any of the Vanity plates I had picked out). Here in Illinois we're all suppose to be getting a new style plate, but they sent me the old type. I guess the state must be way behind, but it sure seems like a waste of money since the new plate should be ready soon. I've seen them on quite a few vehicles.

I complained that they were too cheap. I wanted at least a twenty.

Just kidding. ;D ;D ;D

I was kind of displeased wit the service I received from the dealership. I went to a few different salesmen and they would not help me out. Finally I found this young guy and he helped me out. After three days later when I went to go sign the contract he told me that there was a bet by 5 salemen that I was not going to buy the truck. Finally when I picked up the truck I went up to the first salesman who was disinterested in me and told him that if he was more intersted in Selling Cars than Judging people that he would have made a sale.

I received the same treatment from BMW and walked out. I mean, I have a good job but I do not go car shopping in my suit. What do you all think?

Dealers / salesmen seem to size up perspective customers at least partially by what they drive on to the lot.

Some years ago, I drove my 20 year old college clunker into a Chevy lot and the sales slime wouldn't even let me test drive a Geo Metro! Bad feelings run deep - I didn't even consider that dealership for my Av purchase.

Drive a nice vehicle onto a lot, and you get much better service.

Regarding $$$ in surveys, I'll watch the mail. That practice doesn't seem to common in general consumer mail surveys, but in the electronics business, us engineers frequently get crisp dollar bills in the mail as bribes for filling out surveys. I too have wondered how many end up in the trash.

Sucks doesn't it boyz.....I can care less you don't want to do the job your paid to do...no problem I can take my business elsewhere.....

I have to say I was pretty impressed with the dealership where I purchased my Av....about 3 or 4 salesman rushed myself and my fiance...and at that time I pulled in, in a 89 Audi....pretty banged up....

Got lucky I guess... :)

Last weekend, I went to test drive a AV that I had located that had a 4.10 gear box on it. I wanted to try one out, since all that I had driven up to that point were the 3.73.

Anyway, as we aproached the dealership, we had to make a left hand turn across heavy traffic to get into the dealership. The show room faced the lane I was in. You could see the sales men plastered up against the window looking at who/what was driving onto the lot. While we pulled into the parking space, 4 salesmen came rushing out the door to "help us" what a bunch of vultures.

okay, I went to one dealer(el paso has three)
I told them I will be paying cash for this truck. 1st dealer gave me a test drive and when I ask for a cash deal he told me to get the cash and they could talk.
2nd dealer did and would not even give me a test drive.
3rd dealer was a female. she took me and the wife for a drive and told me that the sales manger would talk about a deal later that day. I got the deal I wanted. list price 36,500 I payed 35.500 Tax, lic, tag, and extanded warr.10 year 10,000 mile so that would make the cost of the truck around 29.900.00
So I think I did great for a NEW truck just out. back in June of 2001...
